Is having any kind of a sound card better than using the one built in the motherboard?
I ask as I've got an old Creative Soundblaster PCI 128 and thought about using it instead of the one in my motherboard to get a little of CPU usage off (Asus A7V880 - SoundMAX (based on AC97' I presume)).
