  • What do I do with my late father's fez?

My father died a year ago. He was a member of Shriners as well as Masons. He left behind a fez as well as other Shriner's/Mason effects. I do not know what to do with them. I have no uncles, brothers or sons to pass it to and I don't want to throw it away or donate. I want to treat it with the respect that he would want me to show. Any suggestions?

  • Fishing License for Native American?

So my husband is full-blooded Cheyenne and we live in Virginia. He has an Indian Card to prove his tribal affiliation. We were fishing and the game warden said he needed a license. He would not need one if he was a VA recognized tribe but he is a federally recognized tribe. Why doesn't federal trump state in this case? The GW said it is because federal only are in charge of migratory game, but he is Native American...why should he have to have a license to fish anyway? He hasn't had to have one in other states.

  • do police have to read your miranda rights when you are arrested?

I have known several people who live in my area who were arrested (for different things) but the one thing they had in common is they were never read their rights. The police says that only happens on TV but I thought they were required to read them to you.

  • I want an English teach to answer this one if possible.?

I am a medical transcriptionist. We are not allowed to use contractions in our reports. Many MTs use the expression "will give the patient IV fluids" and I have been telling them that this is incorrect...that will might sound right, but it is a contraction for We will spelled "we'll". I keep seeing this in the reports and can't find the rule regarding this particular thing. That is just an example, but understand these are legal documents and it is against JOINT commission to use contractions. Help me show them that even though it sounds like the dictator is saying "will give IV fluids" that in written form it is We will give IV fluids.

  • How do you get sharpie off of a painted wall?

How do you get sharpie marker off of a painted wall? I should mention that it has been there a couple of weeks and it is black. I have tried hairspray but it doesn't work. The paint is semi-gloss so it is washable.

  • If a business owner agrees to do something for you verbally, is it a binding contract?

I bought a car from a used car dealer who happens to be a family friend. When I bought the car, there was some minor damage which he agreed to fix. He also agreed to paint the car after it was repaired. I bought the car from him the end of February and it had a broken headlight, damaged side fenders and some holes in the frame. This man also owns a body shop and told me if I bought the car, he would repair it and paint it, but so far has he has done very little (only repaired the side fenders and installed a car stereo I had in another car...which he also agreed to do).

    Additional details:

His manager (at the car lot) lost the remote to my car stereo and also the wiring harness to install the stereo. He bought the wiring harness, but refuses to buy the remote, even though the car was on his lot when the remote and wiring harness were removed.

  • Can someone tell me why it is traditional to eat ham on Easter?

Does it have something to do with Jewish people being unable to eat pork? I don't eat meat anyway, but was wondering as someone asked me what I have for Easter if I don't eat ham.

  • Can you be vegan and still take over the counter or prescription drugs?

Think about this seriously before you answer. All medications are tested on animals. The drugs might eventually be tested on humans, but initially they are all tested on animals. At one time, all insulin was made from beef or pork pancreas (not today). So my question is if you are taking any kind of medication...aren't you supporting the testing of animals by taking it?

  • Can enemas be physically addicting like laxatives?

With all the talk about colon cleansing and colonics, I was wondering how safe it was to use an enema. I would like to go for a colonic, but no one offers it in my area.

  • Why don't vegans eat honey?

I understand fully why vegans don't eat milk and eggs because I know how cruel the meat industry is when dealing with animals...but what is the deal with honey...are the bees mistreated. I'm serious with this question because my sister raises bees and she takes very good care of them...of course she only has a few hives and only takes a very small amount of their honey. I think she only robs the hives three or four times a year and always leaves plenty for the bees.

  • How do you prevent a wok from rusting?

I purchased a wok and the instructions were to treat it with oil and to bake the pan with the wooden handles covered with foil at 500 F for 30 minutes to "treat it". The problem is I have done this many times and the wok continues to rust after I use it. I always wash and dry it immediately after use but when I go to use it again...rust. I have to remove the rust before I can cook in it each time. As I said, I have treated it many times. I'm a vegetarian so please don't suggest using lard or other animal fat to treat it.
