How to handle jealous, clingy work friend?
When I changed jobs late last year, it was tough making friends at first, but a woman about ten years older than me took me under her wing. She seemed cool, so we started hanging out outside of work. I did notice that she didn't seem to have any other friends (like from high school, college, other jobs, or this job), and one of the senior folks in HR warned me away from her (but didn't explain why), but I ignored both of these red flags. Now she's driving me crazy. She's jealous of my other work friendships, she's jealous of any time I spend with non-work friends (I rarely go out, but if I do, I lie to her so I don't have to deal with the butthurt). She doesn't understand that I like to spend most of my time alone; she thinks I should be hanging out with her constantly. She's nosy, she takes everything personally and she's smothering me.
If this were a non-work situation, I would have blocked her number and kicked her crazy butt to the curb months ago, but it's not so simple. She's cool with one of the senior people in my division (their families know each other) and before I found out she was nuts, I told her some of my personal business, and I think she might use it if I tell her to get lost. I don't know what to do about her, but this situation is driving me crazy. Please help.
1 AnswerFriends10 years agoIs it legal in the U.S. to upload someone's photo to an embarrassment website without permission?
There are tons of these websites, and sometimes they're funny, but they all have pictures of people in embarrassing situations or in situations that the website is making fun of, and there is no way that ALL of these people legally consented to having their images uploaded onto these sites, especially the ones who are clearly stoned, wasted, or mentally ill. Is there a federal law against publishing the images of private, non-celebrities on a website without consent?
