4 AnswersGMC4 years agoIs it unprofessional to say "tha", "gonna", "yeah" and the like?
Should you never say those words (but rather say "the", "going to" and "yes") in a pretty formal setting, like to a manager, to a professor, at an interview etc. Is that unprofessional or is it just me?
8 AnswersEtiquette4 years agoWhy do some people think women look less attractive as they get older?
Yeah, I'm a young straight (if that matters) man and I am very annoyed at people that say that women look less attractive as they get older, when that's not even true to me. Obviously when they get in their 50's, 60's, 70's then there is a difference but I don't think that a 27 or 35 year old woman is any bit less attractive than a 21 year old, whatsoever. I think all young or relatively young women (to me, ages 20 to before their mid forties) are literally equally good-looking and attractive given that they stay well-kept.
So what do these people mean when they say this, because it isn't ringing a bell to me? Maybe they mean that due to it being harder to stay in shape that that makes them less attractive?

11 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender5 years agoWhat's wrong with saying this?
Yeah, I was talking to this transgendered woman the other day. And for the record, I'm completely heterosexual and Christian. Anyway, we talked and she brought up some transgendered 'woman' (by the modern definition of woman) named Kim Petras, look her up, she underwent a gender transition as they call it.
Anyway, I went on to truthfully say that I am 0 percent attracted to her (I will call Petras 'her' to not offend anyone, though I would like to say him) whatsoever, as if she is a man. And nothing 'she' does in feeling, acting or looking exactly like a woman will make me any bit more sexually attracted. As in, I'm more attracted to a fat 90 year old actual woman that was born with female body parts than I am Petras. Likewise I also can sense that Petras is not actually a woman despite her outward appearance, feelings and behavior as a woman, I am able to see through that.
I don't understand what's offensive about this? I'm not lying, I'm just explaining who I'm attracted to truthfully. Can transgendered people just not accept that they will never be on the same plane as real women (which, in my definition, means being born with female body parts)? And that my attraction to transgendered 'women' (which is zero) will never intersect with my attraction to real women that were born with female body parts? I don't get it.

31 AnswersPolls & Surveys5 years agoIs it possible to experience feelings in your dreams that you haven't in real life (such as drugs)?
For example, the other night I had a dream that I smoked some marijuana. I have never touched marijuana (or any drug actually) before so I don't know how it feels to be high on it (though I have heard others describe the experience), but in my dream, I honestly felt high! So that leads me to ask if it's possible for your brain to feel things that you haven't in real life, such as drugs and whatnot.
Like I said, I've never smoked marijuana before, but in my dream, I felt so 'high' (lightheaded, happy / carefree etc., I guess those are the feelings I've associated with this drug if you will) and it felt so amazing that I know it has to feel something similar to that... Which would make me wonder if you could feel these feelings in the waking life and from other drugs, such as morphine, etc. Is everything possible in our own minds and we don't need any substances to active it?
1 AnswerPsychology5 years agoWho created true and false?
I was just thinking to myself, who created the concept of true and false / yes and no, etc? Did humans create the concept like math or was it just there? What if there's something else out there besides true and false but with the same significance like: true, false and x or whatever.

2 AnswersOther - Television6 years agoQuestion about becoming a teacher?
Hi, I have a question about becoming a teacher here in the U.S. Okay, first, my sister is getting her Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and her teacher's (K-6) license, so I know that's good for her to teach everything. But I have a question. What if you are very educated in a particular subject (like, say Math) and want to just teach a high school or middle school math class? Like say you got your Bachelor in Mathematics, could you teach just high school math classes all day? Surely you don't have to go back and complete a 4 year Bachelor in Teaching just to teach grade school? Is there some license or something that would let you teach grade school, even though you didn't get your degree specifically in teaching but have the expertise in the subject? Like getting a degree in Marketing, and then teaching high school marketing classes all day? Thanks.
2 AnswersTeaching6 years agoStudysoup credibility?
So I just got an email with someone asking me to be an elite note taker for my classes. Apparently, they pay you to take notes, and I am a big-time note taker already, so that sounds like a winner. Just wondering if anyone here has worked for them, are they legit, did you make anything? Is there a small base pay, or is it all commission (per sale)? Thanks.
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment6 years ago1994 GMC Sierra very sluggish picking up speed?
94 GMC Sierra is very sluggish when I start to accelerate, but eventually it picks up like normal, but just every time I start going fast it has trouble picking up speed. I already changed the sparkplugs, so I am just trying to diagnose what it is, if anyone is familiar or has any suggestion for what it may be, please let me know. Thanks
2 AnswersGMC6 years agoeBay shipping internationally?
Okay, I live in Tennessee and sell books. Pretty simple when shipping within the U.S. to say the least. Just go to the post office and drop the book off in the blue box Economy Shipping, USPS Media Mail costs around $3 with shipping . But I'm a bit confused about international shipping. I have a buyer from Belgium that wants to buy one of my books. I am assuming it's all the same for shipping internationally. Just go to usps and drop it in the blue box, media mail just like when shipping in the U.S. Or am I wrong do I have to go somewhere else to ship it? (I always click the check that says 'ship internationally using the Global Shipping Program'). Thanks
3 AnswersPacking & Preparation6 years ago455 exhaust down pipes?
Hi, does anyone have or know a place to get any exhaust down pipes for a 455 engine? I was going to get mine from opgi (Part # S240436) (By the brand Pypes) but their price is very high.. Just putting it out there, if anyone has any, I would be glad to buy it. Thanks.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs6 years agoBasic stock question?
I have a question about overvalued and undervalued stocks. Okay, say I buy an undervalued stock (say I bought it for $65). Then a little while later the price rises (say to $85), so of course I will sell it to make some money. But I do not understand who would buy that stock for $85, seeing that it was just $65? Does NASDAQ buy it and that's just a price of NASDAQ's business workers (the loss of $20)? Or maybe the rise in the dividend payment offsets the higher stock price, so people are willing to buy that stock at that high price? Thanks.
5 AnswersInvesting6 years agoDoes anyone know where to find a fuse box for a 1967 Buick Skylark?
Hi, I have a 1967 Skylark, 2-dr coupe. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the fuse box for it? I ask because I have had a lot of trouble trying to get the wiring right, I have a drain right now and all kind of stuff. Anyways, if you know where I can find a fuse box for this car, please let me know, thank you.
1 AnswerGMC6 years agoQuestion about not being able to time my engine (old car)?
Hey, I am an old car enthusiast, particularly Buicks. The car I have is a 1967 Buick Skylark (300c.i. "small block", V8). I have done every thing right with this car that I bought for 2 grand a few months ago. I rebuilt the whole engine, everything, but I just can't get the timing right.. I can't get the engine to run smooth below 8 degrees and I am not sure why.
I know that it should run at 2 and a half degrees, but I am not able to get it to. I know that I have set my dwell correctly as well as my RPM, but I just don't know why I can't get the timing correct. The manuals say I am supposed to have it timed at 2 and 1/2 degrees, but every time I move the advance to get it down to close to 2 and a half, it slows down and shuts off. I could let it run at like 12 degrees, and it runs, even when I put it in gear (reverse, neutral, drive, etc), but that is way off the mark, when i know it should be at 2 and 1/2.. Any common diagnosis, has anyone else had problems timing their '67 Skylark? I believe my carburetor is good, I don't think that is the problem.. Anyway, thanks.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs6 years agoAbout Benadryl (and also the anti-histamine doxylamine succinate, both sleeping aids)?
Okay, so i take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or its sister doxylamine succinate (both anti-histamines, work pretty much the same) to help me go to sleep.. And lately every time I take either one when i am almost asleep i will wake up quickly, catching my breath at least once if not more.. Why does this happen is this normal or is it more serious? And this never happens when i dont take them so i know that that is what is causing it.. Should i stop taking them or is this a normal side effect? It didn't use to do that when i took them a few months ago but now ive stopped for a few weeks and I took it last night and it happened again.. I always only take low doses nowadays (about 12.5-25 mg of Benadry (one pill) maximum) or 6 or 7 mg of doxylamine succinate.. Thanks in advance. (:
Alternative Medicine7 years ago1970 vs 1971 Buick Electra fuel tank sending unit?
Ok, me and my dad were trying to figure this out.. Is the 1970 Buick Electra sending unit the same as the 1971 Buick Electra sending unit? I thought they were- considering that they both hold 25 gallons of gas- but I dont want to go buy one and it be the wrong one. So I have a 1970 Buick Electra, so if i bought a 1971 sending unit would that be okay? Also, do you know a place i could buy a sending unit that would fit my 1970 electra? Thanks in advance.
