Steelers-Patriots?
Steelers fan here. This is a playoff rematch I've been waiting 12 years for. Ben Roethlisberger vs. Tom Brady. Patriots vs. Steelers.
I don't think the Steelers have any pressure on their shoulders as the visiting team and underdog. Everyone is expecting the Patriots to get to the Super Bowl.
If everyone's taking the Patriots in this one- good. I want Pittsburgh to be the underdog. It'll make a win over Brady at his house that much sweeter.
I think it's going to be a great game.

6 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoHow long will James Franklin coach at Penn State?
CJF seems like the kind of guy who cares so much about the school, players, and fans to leave. I think he is safe to stay at PSU for the foreseeable future (10-15 years), but I'm sure he'll get NFL looks if Penn State wins a national championship.
2 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoDo Ohio State fans think Penn State is a rival?
I'm a Penn State student, and I can easily say that Ohio State is our biggest rival now. They've been essentially the competition in the Big Ten since we joined the conference in 1993. The current PSU students did not grow up with the same Pitt-Penn State rivalry that was renewed this season, although we don't like Pitt either.
Ohio State-Penn State games have always had the feel of a rivalry game:
- College Gameday has made 7 appearances at Ohio State-Penn State games, the most for any single matchup in the Big Ten and third-most in the country.
- Most of the games are at night
- The game is nearly always on national TV
- The stadium atmospheres are electric (PSU White Out especially).
We PSU fans know that Ohio State fans hate Michigan more than anyone else, but OSU-PSU has been fun to watch for the last 20+ years. It's a relatively young rivalry (32 meetings, 18-14 OSU), but with Penn State's rise this season, look for OSU-PSU to decide the East Division title for the next few years. I think Ohio State-Penn State is one of the most underrated young rivalries in college football. Kinda the Big Ten version of Alabama-LSU.
3 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoBest games of the 2016 college football season?
1. Clemson-Alabama: best championship game I've watched in a long time.
2. Penn State-USC (Rose Bowl): This game represented 2 teams quickly recovering from sanctions and re-establishing themselves as national contenders. Outstanding game on top of that.
3. Ohio State-Michigan: intense rivalry, first OT game between them ever, decided division title (essentially).
4. Penn State-Ohio State: We will see some intense, high-stakes games between Ohio State and Penn State in the near future. This was one of them for sure.

8 AnswersPolls & Surveys4 years agoIs Ohio State-Penn State a rivalry game?
As a Penn State student, I can easily say we hate Ohio State the most, followed up by Michigan and then Pitt. Most current students have no recollection of Pitt-Penn State. We have more exposure to Ohio State and Michigan.
Ohio State will always hate Michigan more than anyone else, now and forever. However, I think Ohio State-Penn State is one of the more underrated young rivalry games. With only 31 meetings, it doesn't have the history other games do, but it has determined Big Ten championships many times since PSU joined the conference in 1993.
Most, if not all, of the recent Ohio State-Penn State games have been played at night on national TV. It's an incredible atmosphere for this game every year, whether PSU is decked out in white at Beaver Stadium, or Ohio State blacks (or scarlets) out the Horseshoe.
Ohio State fans don't normally consider Penn State a rival. Most Ohio State fans I know always look forward to Ohio State-Penn State every season. Michigan-Ohio State is the best and most bitter rivalry in college football, but Penn State has beaten OSU more times than Michigan has in the 21st century. The 2016 OSU-PSU game may indicate a swing in the series toward the Nittany Lions anyway.
My point is that it isn't "the" rivalry, but the nature of the games they've played surely indicates "a" rivalry.
3 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoDid Penn State deserve a playoff spot?
For what it's worth, I am a Penn State fan who saw this **** coming. I don't know how anyone could justify Ohio State being in the playoff over Penn State after that utterly pathetic performance. Penn State is the best team in the Big Ten. I don't think PSU would have beaten Clemson, but that's not my point.
The committee talked about a "gap" between Ohio State and Penn State that did not exist, even after PSU beat OSU in their head-to-head meeting. Penn State went on to win the conference.
Michigan and Ohio State regressed so badly in October and November. PSU put the gas pedal to the floor in early October and never looked back.
As a PSU fan, I gladly extend my middle finger to the selection committee, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany (who could barely get the words out when presenting PSU with the Big Ten championship trophy), and Ohio State for embarrassing the Big Ten yet again. Screw all of them.
9 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoWhy did it take me so long to accept being gay?
I have no clue how it took me so long to put it together. Once I told myself that's who I was, everything clicked, but it took a long time to get there.
My family is accepting of the LGBT community, as are my friends, but I worried that they would show their true colors if I told them I was gay. I have remained closeted to this day.
Can anyone else here relate? Is it a psychological thing? Social norms maybe?
1 AnswerLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender4 years agoAre the Patriots overrated?
Lost to the struggling Seahawks at home. Barely beat the Ravens at home. It doesn't appear the Patriots are as good as they look.
I'm a Steelers fan, and yes we've had some bad losses, but only losing to the Pats by 10 at home without Roethlisberger has me confident in our chances to beat New England in a playoff matchup. I'm not scared of any team in the AFC- just worried the Steelers are going to screw something up the last 3 weeks and get left out.
5 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoHow many bowl games will the Big Ten win?
The B1G has 10 teams in bowl games. I'm breaking them down by likelihood of victory.
Safe Bets: Michigan, Wisconsin
Toss-Up: Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska
Tough Bets: Northwestern, Indiana, Minnesota
I think if the B1G wins 6 of 10 games (and 3 of PSU/OSU/Michigan/Wisconsin), that's enough validation for the conference. The lower tier of B1G bowl teams got terrible draws, especially Northwestern-Pitt and Indiana-Utah.
4 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoRose Bowl prediction?
As a Penn State fan, this is what I've heard the last week: "Penn State hasn't seen an offense like USC's." Well, we played Pitt, Michigan, and Ohio State, but thanks for playing.
Penn State's best wins are better than USC's. Ohio State, Wisconsin, Temple, and Iowa are better than Washington, Colorado, Notre Dame, and UCLA.
There's no way USC's defense holds Penn State below 30 points. Wisconsin hadn't given up more than 23 points in regulation all season, and PSU torched them for 38- that's more than Michigan and OSU together scored on Wisconsin in regulation.
The difference is going to be whether USC scores touchdowns or field goals in PSU territory. Penn State allows yards, but they tend to be more stingy in the red zone.
Penn State 41, USC 30
3 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoBest Christmas movies?
1. Home Alone- always been my favorite- the pizza delivery scene makes me laugh every. single. time.
2. Elf- Will Ferrell- no need to expand here.
3. Polar Express- this one is a little underrated.
4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas!- the cartoon version is 100000000x better than the Jim Carrey version.
5. Christmas with the Kranks
6 AnswersChristmas4 years agoWho is the best quarterback in the Big Ten?
As a Penn State fan this is biased, but I would say Trace McSorley is the best all-around QB in the conference this season- the dude can sling it downfield. He also has moxie and plays well in the 2nd half and when trailing. McSorley is so much better for PSU than Hackenberg ever was, and he's setting Penn State records in his 1st season as a starter.
I think JT Barrett gets overrated as a passer but he's a tremendous leader. Wilton Speight is good too, but Michigan is more known for their defense and Peppers this season.
1 AnswerFootball (American)4 years agoCould Donald Trump repeal LGBT rights?
With Republican-controlled everything, it's certainly possible.
It's so ******* sad we live in a country where a lot of people actually think that gay people getting married directly affects them.
3 AnswersGovernment4 years agoWhat bowl game will Penn State be in if they win out?
I think the Rose, Orange, Cotton, Citrus, and Outback are the bowl games on the table for Penn State. Chances are PSU goes 10-2 on the season and finishes in the Top 10, so if they do, I think they get invited to a New Year's Six bowl game.
3 AnswersFootball (American)4 years agoWhy is America so stupid?
We actually elected Donald Trump as our next president. How stupid are we getting? Truly sad for this once great country.
We took on the challenge of out-stupid-ing Brexit AND SUCCEEDED.
News flash Americans- WE SUCK as a country. We lost when Bernie Sanders wasn't nominated- we had an opportunity to fix corruption in American politics and let it go by the wayside.

1 AnswerFootball (American)4 years agoWill Sidney Crosby score 2000 career points?
Crosby has 944 points through 711 career games (1.33 points per game).
It's hard to believe he's been around for more than a decade and he's only 29. Chances are he will hit 1000 points before turning 30 next August, and he's playing some of the best hockey of his career.
At his current pace, Crosby would need an additional 793 games to reach 2000 career points. That is the equivalent of 9.68 82-game seasons. He will need to play deep into his 30s to reach this target.
Is it possible? I certainly think it's possible if he stays healthy and sticks to his pace.
4 AnswersHockey5 years agoIs Penn State overrated at #12?
I'm a Penn State student.
Penn State should be ranked, and I think most of us can accept that they're in the rankings and are among the Top 25 in the country. But #12 is pretty high.
I was thinking #17-18- 15 would have been reasonable, but 12 is too high. I honestly don't care because Penn State hasn't been this good in at least 6-7 years, and I want to see James Franklin really turn the corner in a season in which we weren't even expected to be competitive in the conference, let alone the national stage.
I still think 12 is too high, but it puts the ball on the tee for a Top 10 ranking and a possible New Year's Six bowl appearance. If Penn State wins out and finishes 10-2 (which statistically is the most likely single possibility), I'd say they'll be ranked at least 8. Just gotta handle our business and we'll be good.
It's been a long time since Happy Valley was this happy!
