  • Do I really need a root canal, just because my tooth is cracked?

My dentist has told me that I have a cracked molar that needs a crown. Before he will do the crown though, he wants me to have root canal. The tooth is not infected and has not given me any problems other than being a bit sensitive to cold. He says that he wants me to have a root canal before he does the crown, because it will be much more of a hassle to do it after he's done the crown. My question is do I really need a root canal? Why is he so sure I'll need one eventually? I really don't want to undergo an unnecessary procedure just because it's more convenient for the dentist. Can anyone explain his reasoning to me or explain why he is right?

  • Need advice on making mini quiches, please?

I am planning on making an asparagus, mushroom and ricotta quiche for a wedding shower and would like to make little individual pies, but I've never made mini quiche before. I would be using regular cupcake tins and Trader Joe's pre-made pie crust. Do I need to pre-bake the shells beforehand? Some recipes do and some don't. I know the custard will cook quicker in the smaller format, but I'd really like to avoid the extra work if I can. Also, I have both goat cheese and ricotta. Could I beat the ricotta into the egg mixture and then sprinkle the top with just a little bit of goat cheese, or would this be too much? And finally, how do I remove the mini quiche from the cupcake tins with out damaging the crust? Could I maybe line the tins with a strip of parchment paper to help me lift them out? Would this effect the cooking time? Any advice is welcome!

  • Can anyone suggest a good recipe for fresh asparagus?

Asparagus is in season where I live right now. I love asparagus, but I generally just grill or roast it with a little balsamic vinegar to finish. I would like to make some sort of Asparagus casserole, but all the recipes I find are just the old green bean casserole with canned cream of mushroom soup made with asparagus instead. That really doesn’t do much for me. I’m looking for something a little more elegant that lets the asparagus really shine. Anyone have any ideas?

  • How can I return my Home page's display to normal?

When I log onto My Yahoo my homepage displays all wonky with everything aligned to the right and no formatting. It only does this on my home computer so I thought it must have been something I had done, but I had not made any changes or adjustments to my home computer when this started happening. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it?.
