  • Bird that hit a window - will it be ok?

A small bird must have hit a window, I found it lying on the ground outside. I've gently taken it and put it in a box lined with a towel. For the past while it's been resting in a dark place (as I hear that's what you are supposed to do). Right now it's eyes are open, it looks alert, but it is till not getting up or trying to fly away. It *can* move its head, its tail flexes, but I'm not sure if it's feet or wings are moving much.

Is it still in shock and needs more time?

Just wondering if the poor little guy will be ok.

  • My right knee hurts when I am walking DOWN stairs. What might be wrong?

I went hiking up a mountain on a cold day. The trail was well laid out, except that near the top there was a boardwalk over an alpine marsh, and the wood was very icy. I didn't have crampons (those metal spikes you can put on your boots) so it was very difficult going both up and down the boardwalk.

I did slip a couple of times, but nothing very serious, as I caught myself before I hit the ground.

After the boardwalk on the way down, the path was a bit rocky, and steep-ish. Near the bottom of the trail my right knee was getting kind of painful whenever I had to take a step down. However, stepping UP didn't hurt really, at all.

I thought I might have twisted my knee, so I've been taking it easy for a few weeks.

However, just the other day I had to go up and down stairs quite a bit, and my right knee started hurting again! It felt fine before, but it just doesn't like going downhill.

    What might be wrong?
