  • What type of animal would be a good playmate for a dog?

    I want to get a playmate for my dog, but I thought it might be fun to get a different type of animal. My dog is VERY friendly and has yet to find a person/animal that he has not tried to play with, so I'm not worried that he won't get along with another pet, but I'm not sure what type of animal would be okay with a dog.

    I was thinking about getting a bunny as he tries to chase them when we go on walks. It would all be playful chasing for him (he's not much of a predator), but I don't want the bunny to feel like it's his prey. He can sense when he's playing too rough and will back off, which is great, but would kind of defeat the purpose of another pet.

    Does anyone know of a type of pet (other than a cat) that could keep up with a young playful dog? Would it be better to just get a similar dog?
