Who else has been scammed by Telstra?
I got wireless Telstra USB broadband 2 months ago, and when I phoned them to ask why they hadn't sent me a bill, I found out that the broadband plan they put me on was not the one I had been sold. It was a completely different and more expensive plan. Now I have a $924 bill from them. They say that they have no record of me being sold the cheaper package - even though the bloke on the phone created a username for me during that call. I spoke to a manager at the call centre, but she says I am in the wrong because I agreed to the Telstra terms and conditions when I first plugged in the modem. She also denied that it was basically fraud to sell someone something, and then charge them for something else more expensive.
The plan I was offered was half-price for the first 12 months, with a free USB modem. The one they put me on and are charging me for is double the price and the modem is $299. I would not have agreed to that plan. I did not agree to that plan. They put me on the more expensive plan without my consent.
The manager also said that I have to pay the bill in one go. I asked about a payment plan, and she said no.
How are these bastards still in business? Am I the only one being scammed like this?
1 AnswerMobile Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhat is the name of the surf lifesaving game where the kids have to run and grap the pegs in the sand?
I've seen it on the telly, but I can't find what it is called. It looks like a training game for the young surf lifesaver kids.
Thanks.

I need to get waxed and have heard they are good. If anyone has been there, can you give me a review? Or suggest another reputable salon in London.
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoBest headphones for plane travel?
Can anyone recommend a good set of headphones for use on a plane as well as at home? I am after good sound quality (mainly for use with Ipod), as well as insulating from noise. In the past, I have had the Ipod at nearly full volume during the plane flight to drown out the noise, but this cannot be good for the ears. I am hoping to get a pair of headphones good enough that I don't have to blast my ears.
I don't want the 'active noise reduction' ones, eg. Bose Quiet Comfort. Either a good earbud type that have good sound quality as well as keeping cabin noise out, or a pair of closed cans that do the same thing.
I am willing to spend up to $300.
Thanks.

I'm going to be in transit at Dubai airport for a few hours. Does anyone know if I can charge my Ipod there? I'm not rich enough to get into any of the airline lounges.
Thanks.

2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoAustralian made bed linen?
Does anyone know whether I can get good quality Australian made sheets? Or at least not made in China. I have had to return 3 sets of bed linen in the last month, because it was low quality 'Made in China' rubbish - regardless of how much I paid for it in the big stores. Even the expensive high thread count set pilled after 1 week on the bed.
I don't mind paying the extra money for something which is good quality and going to last.
Thanks.

2 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoCan anyone answer a question about music in Amadeus film?
In the film, after her singing lesson with Salieri, they cut to Madame Cavalieri on stage singing a powerful, high pitched part in 'The Abduction from the Seraglio'. Salieri refers to it as "10 minutes of ghastly scales". What is the name of this song? It does not appear on the film soundtrack.

Is it necessary to shampoo hair twice? What is the rationale behind this? Is it a ploy to get us to use twice the amount of shampoo and have to buy more?
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoShower facilities at Dubai airport?
I am going to be in transit for 2-3 hours at Dubai airport. Is there anywhere I can go to have a shower? I'm not in first class, and am only a basic member of Qantas frequent flyer. Can I pay to use one of these lounges for those who travel business or first class?
Thanks
