Older trains as we have heard had a driver, firemen and guard or even more . My question is how do trains operate in this modern day and is it different from country to country. Please if you can help me understand how many are onboard to operate a train and there category's who is incharge of a moving train (the boss) if driver then second in command third in command and so on. and will really appreciate if someone with experience could explain if its the same practice in every country . Would also like to hear from people with knowledge/experience about the practice in larger countries for example China ,India? Please exclude catering/ cleaning staff thank you all for you help.

Do trains use sand to stop slipping (skidding) and how effective was it then and now on diesel engines trains . I was told they use it on hills mountainous area's when skidding. I would prefer to hear for a retired or current engine driver/ operator , obviously during the steam age it would have being a manual task please give me brief idea and why sand ? Hello,( No repair / parts manual.) Please can someone tell me what is the fuel pump pressure on a 1999 VW caddy 1.6 engine and also the other question please could some one tell me the exact pin point location of the fuel pump relay. I am sure some of you would have owned a 1998/1999 VW caddy 1.6 . I am very thank full and appreciate your help . There may be someone who has a repair manual or relay diagram of relay arrangement it will great if one of you could send a photo of relays and functions or fuse board detailed photo. Everywhere I look to buy pistons for my triumph 5TA they are advertised as +0.020 +0.030 +0.040 please tell me how to convert these sizes to millimeters . I am made to understand that +0.020 is 69mm is this correct? My barrel size is 69mm I can rebore to 69.9 I really appreciate if someone could give me the multimeter size of the above mentioned three sizes. Thank you all in advance and appreciation

recently built engine sleeved and new rings the problem is high oil pressure inside engine and oil pouring out from breather tube, points plate and massive oil collection inside sump even with five minutes start but oil returns fine to the oil tank with good pressure could it be that i have not fitted the cam shaft disk properly your help is appreciated thanks all

Re- bored new rings on old high compression pistons , Ring gap was minimized to get good compression for pick up . Engine is tight to kick but starts although some times the clucth slips because pistons are tight. Please let me know of any chemical to use while running the engine to smoothen the engine worried that it get stuck . Don't want to pull out pistons again will it break-in if run idle for short spells. Thanks guys for your help

The pistons are on TDC with timing marks aligned, how do I go from there to set the the gap's on both sets of points Thank you for your help

dont you think he should be in jail as its obvious that he has broken maritime laws by doing a sail pass close to shore to impress others while putting innocent 4000 plus lives at risk, hope he,was tested for drinking on the job hopefully there will be enough charges if there is an oil spill to land him in prison for life?
