Slim PS2 not playing GT4?
I wanted to play Gran Turismo 4 but in the slim PS2 the disc spins about once or twice and nothing happens, i try going to browser and it just says reading disc and still nothing happens.
The disc itself looks perfect no dirt, marks, scratches or abrasions and it did work perfectly fine on the older PS2 design (i tested recently on a friends older PS2) but i don't have the older model anymore. Also the Slim PS2 is about 4 years old now but the laser lens has been cleaned recently too
The PS2 itself works fine with all my PS2 games except Gran Turismo 4 and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (has the same trouble) and it runs PS1 games fine too
i can't get another PS2 or another game right now so if anyone has any ideas that may help i'd be grateful
2 AnswersPlayStation1 decade agoHard disk faults need help finding cause?
My brother recently built up a PC about 2 months ago but a few days ago he told me he could smell something like burning plastic, then the PC wouldn't turn on any more after it was shutdown.
I checked each piece of hardware and rebuilt the PC found nothing wrong visually no burn marks or damage. He did say that both hard drives were acting up sometimes not showing in windows sometimes. It was like it had no power i could turn it on for 1 second then it died. thinking it was the PSU i got a new PSU, still same result.
After i unplugged both hard drives the PC sprang into life again but with no hard disks it can't do much. i tried the master drive on its own and it didn't respond and it made this very loud clicking and grinding noise. I then tried the slave drive on its own and it just exploded the moment the PC was turned on
The only thing i can do now is get a new hdd and reinstall XP but does anyone know what could cause this as i don't want this to happen again if i get a new hdd
