How can a Canadian citizen buy property in the US?
*What are the legal requirements for a Canadian (citizen/passport holder) when purchasing real estate in the USA ? ...
*Do you need an "immigrant visa" or other such permit? & what if you only use the property part-time (not actually living there, just "visit" from Canada 3 or 4 times a month &/or rent it out).
1 AnswerRenting & Real Estate1 decade agoWindsor/Detroit border Q...?
Since real estate is so cheap in Michigan right now, what's to stop any Canadian (citizen/passport holder) from buying a house in Detroit, and keeping their job in Windsor (or Sarnia) and just driving back & forth across the border every day, twice a day? (i.e. working in Canada and living in USA - but never staying longer than 24hrs...)
*Are there immigration/border patrol rules against this? can you just enter & leave that much - or do you need a special passport/permit etc...? (please Ontario/Michigan residents answer only !!)

Hi, I have some questions about "Transit thru USA":
-if I'm a Filipino citizen, with a Canadian *Multiple-Entry Visitor's VISA*, and I am flying from Vancouver to Lima (Peru) stopping off at a US airport for a connection (layover) - Do I need some kind of "transit VISA" ?
&...
-What is the process of connecting thru that US airport (customs etc...), and If my layover is very short (under 1 hour) *would that realistically be enough time for me to catch my onward flight?
-Thanks, Jake (jakecruz2k8@yahoo.ca)
