Air Force Job Selection When Waivers Are Needed...?
How short of a list will i have to choose from if i required an fed waiver (for credit issues) and also a morals waiver (for a misdemeanor charge of recieveing stolen property, which was dismissed, and 4 minor speeding violations).. I scored an 88 on the AFQT and my recruiter said i test qualified for any job, but i wouldn't be eligible for a top secret clearance.. My question is, when I go to Meps... Will they offer me any job that I qualify for, or only the jobs that they desperately need people to do??

Okay, Im currently in the process of getting a couple of waivers approved to join the Air Force. I needed an F.E.D waiver because of my credit history (it's terrible); as well as a Morals Waiver because of a misdemeanor charge I got in 2006 (which was dismissed), and a few minor traffic violations (speeding tickets). I took the ASVAB and scored an 88 as my AFQT. My recruiter said that I test qualified for any enlisted job, but I would have to be very open-minded in my job selection when I go to M.E.P.S because I wont get the clearance necessary to qualify for some jobs. I understand and accept the fact that "top secret" jobs are out of the question, however might I still qualify for jobs that require a "secret clearance". Some of the jobs I have a great deal of interest in include: 2E2X1, 4YOX2, 2POX1, 2E1X4, 3VOX3, 2TOX1, & 4ROX1; all of which require a 'secret clearance'. My questions now are: (a) Since I was required to get a morals and f.e.d. waiver approved by the commander, will it affect my job selection to the point that I might not qualify for the jobs I listed? (b) What jobs do not require a clearance at all? (c) What job is highly probable if I were to go in "Open General". My recruiter said I dont qualify for Security Forces because they require a "top secret clearance eligibility", but a friend of mine said I can still get placed in Security Forces and just not have to go on missions that require 'top secret eligibility'. Any information/ feedback is gratefully appreciated.. Thank You
