  • Knitting volunteers?

I work closely with a school in rural Zambia that has been affected recently by a flood. The children have been displaced and are in need of blankets/hats. Would any knitting circles be interested in a special project??? If so, please contact me through my website,

  • Why don't the candidates talk more about the importance of education???

When they are not busy smearing one another, the candidates are talking mostly about taxes and healthcare (two important topics, I know) But what about EDUCATION??? It's the only way out of poverty and every American has the ability to get at least a high school diploma if they want to. Many do not and the rest of us are left to deal with the fallout of that and all the problems that come with it. Many of our schools are underfunded (www.corridorofshame.com) . Why don't they focus more on this issue???

  • For Those Who have had Bell's Palsy?

I had it in the Fall of 2003 and it lasted about 4 months. Have had lingering effects...chin still quivers, right eye appears smaller (lid shrunken a little)

Has anyone else experienced the same? How long did your episode last? What were your lingering effects, if any?

  • For Hip-Hop stars?

Do any of you mentor the youth in your community and encourage them to stay in school? I just read a report that said the black youth of today are far worse off than their parents because they listen to your music and EXPECT all the decadence without working for it. What do you think about this?

  • Can you sue your realtor for fraud?

We worked with a realtor last summer. It was a rush deal (2 weeks...we had sold our house and the one we were buying beforefell through due to the owners fault)

This realtor was a dual agent and once we purchased this home and moved in we discovered tons of problems that were not disclosed before purchase. We are stuck with a huge repair bill and we're pissed!

Can I go after the realtor or broker-in-charge? If so, what are the success rates on these types of things?

  • I self published...now want to sell my idea?

I self published a book a few years ago. Although many publishers loved the concept, no one was willing to take a chance on a newbie. I did great with book signings and sold out of all my copies. Didn't have a marketing budget (learned as I went along!) It's still a great concept and I have TONS more writing experience under my belt now. Have you ever heard of a publisher buying me out of my idea (taking over the book) and doing their own thing with it???

  • How to pay off $50K in credit card debt?

We needed to make an emergency repair on our stucco home that cost nearly $50K. Had to put it on a few high interest credit cards and now I'm freaking out! How can we pay this off quickly or get the balance transferred to something else? I was thinking of a home equity but we already have 2 mortgages on this place and no one wants to take third position. Moving is not an option as we'd be upside down. HELP!!! Any advice is welcome!

  • 50K in credit card debt...help!!!?

We just had to make a home improvement that cost almost $50,000!!! This was an emergency situation and I had to put it on an unsecure credit card!!! Yikes! The interest rate is CRAZY! I'm so stressed out over this! What can I do? A home equity loan is pretty much out of the question since we have 2 mortgages already on this place and no one wants to be in third position. Our credit is good, not great. Any options???

  • Eating contests?

Do you think that participants in "All you can Eat" contests (they actaully refer to themselves as athletes) should be required to visit a hunger camp as part of their training?

  • For people who have been to Negril, Jamaica?

We are thinking of going to Negril next year but don't want to take the bus to the resort as we hear it takes a couple of hours and lots of stops along the way. Has anyone rented a private taxi and if so, can you give me an estimated price?

  • Any Americans ever done a GAP year like they have in the U.K.?

I like the idea of a GAP year after high school where kids can volunteer (often overseas) for a year before going to college. It's very common in the U.K. and parts of Canada. Has anyone here in the U.S. done something similar? I just have to believe that those kids come back much more mature.

  • Has anyone done a debt management program? If so, would you recommend it?

I'm thinking of entering a DMP as I have lots of unsecured debt due to unforseeable home repairs!!! Consumer Credit Counseling seems to be reputable but I'm worried about a negative impact on my credit. Can anyone offer advice???
