Did Obama really increase voter turnout?
In 2004, 122,293,542 people voted, with Bush receiving 62 million votes, Kerry receiving 59 million votes, and 1.2 million votes being split between the various other parties.
In 2008, 121,207,153 people voted, with Obama receiving 63 million votes, McCain receiving 56 million votes, and 1.6 million votes being split between the other parties.
Many people are claiming that Obama caused many more people to vote, yet fewer people voted in this election. I am curious what others think.
