  • Windows 8 installation disk wont boot up?

I just yesterday built my first, and powerful computer. But despite my protests, my dad installed Linux. So today I tried an already used Windows 8 disk but it won't even begin to boot up, it goes straight to Linux. I've already used the used disk on my other computer which successfully worked, so does that mean I have to uninstall Windows 8 on my old computer or am I doing something wrong?

  • How much watts do I need for this PC build?

I already chose 750 watts for preference, but just to make sure...

    Motherboard: MSI Z87-G55

Graphics Card: GTX 770 Superclock 2GB

    Processor: i5 4690k

Memory: Kingston HyperX 8 GB memory (2x4 GB). (Will be adding 2 generic 2 GB ram sticks afterwards)

So should all that fall into 750 or should I add more?

  • Can you use a Windows 8 Pro installer disc on a computer that doesn't have an Operating System?

Just wondering. I purchased it before making my computer and now that my parts are coming in I'm very skeptical.

  • I'm about to buy parts for my first gaming PC. Is this compatible?

After weeks of searching for parts I believe I got a future gaming pc beast in my hands. But just to be sure, I'm asking if these are compatible and would promise high fps max setting games (and if there's better parts in different websites)

    My future rig:

    Chassis: Cooler Master Elite 430

    Processor: Intel Core i5 4690S

    Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 760

Power Supply: Corsair CX Series 750 Watt (Not sure if I need that many... anyone know how much I should get?)

Motherboard: Intel Desktop Motherboard LGA1155 (Not sure if this is good for gaming either, suggestions?)

    RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB (2x4GB) 1866MHZ

Hard Drive: WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Drive

CPU Fan: Corsair Hydro Series H55 Quiet Edition

I already can reuse the my monitor, mouse, and keyboard and I think I've covered everything that's on a computer. Is this a good rig? Did I miss anything important or is there something I could have gotten that was better? Is this even a beast gaming rig or a gaming rig at all? Is it even compatible??? Please tell me I'm purchasing these parts tonight or tomorrow morning!

  • My parents is forcing me to do soccer HELP?

Okay so basically the school year just settled in, and the first week of school passed. But after very intimidating expectations from my AP and Honors classes from the first day of school (so I already have a heavy plate) I've decided on the same day to do some extra curricular on the side because why the heck not?

Since track doesn't start till seasons away (and track is basically my #1 sport), I did instead a few other interesting activities at school. Unfortunately, when I got back from school my parents literally FORCED me to the point of THREATENING me to do soccer because most of my family has or is doing it. So I abide eventually and I took a whole week of soccer. And during that time, I hated it. Just hated it. And after a short talk with my coach, he let me down easy, but my parents didn't.

They lied and even made me look stupid when the called the coach to bring me back in, which he did, and now I'm stuck. I can't even do my other more favored activities because soccer overtakes them all in my parents eyes. It's now the weekend and I'm fed up with it as I am a very independent person (I'm not shy nor a loner as I'm shy to talk to people or make new friends, and I actually enjoy a more solitary environment more than hanging around with my few friends). And also throughout my life my parents have never chose when it came to activities the right choice and usually ends up me hating it like right now.

So guys, what should I do?

  • Can you switch the chassis of a pre-made computer?

I wanted to transfer all the parts of this: http://www.pcworld.com/product/30456/dell-optiplex...

    To this: http://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Guardian-Tower-Black-92...

Is it possible? I can use a different chassis but I will definitely need a new chassis so I can make more room for new components.

  • As anyone noticing the religious battle in the show Under the Dome?

I just noticed after watching a few episodes of Season 2 that the people under the dome are taking the dome to soul, talking all religiously and the whole "Jim gets a second chance and rejuvenates himself " arc going on. Or the fact that he even believes that the dome is sending out tests at him.

And although I can go on a little bit more about the messages here, what intrigue me is how Rebecca and Dale is portrayed. While Dale is more of a laid back kind of guy and really doesn't believe or even care about the dome and what people think has ties to Jesus Christ, which makes me believe that he is an agnostic. But Rebecca is quite firm about it and is even an Atheist in the show. And although she is portrayed to be most likely the smartest in town, she is also shown as evil for trying to contaminate the holy water with H1N1 (she backed out) or how she consistently tells Big Jim and others that they needed to start making plans to reduce the population.

But the big problem is though is that the way everyone's talking about it and how the show makes it like is that Rebecca is definitely wrong that the stuff going on in the dome can be explained with science, with everyone also commenting that she's totally wrong and judgement and blah blah.

But wait! There's more! Don't forget the part that Lyle forced Rebecca into believing Jesus Christ with the red rain or the fact that Julia is bickering that Dale doesn't believe in the dome but she does. Anyone notice this?!?!???

  • How should I start upgrading my computer's components?

What I'm trying to do here basically is upgrade my scrap junk into a low end-medium end gaming PC. I have an already modified version of the Dell Optiflex 755, and this is what the chassis looks like: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DELL-Optiplex-755-SFF-Desk...

Although some of the specifications shown below the website I showed you I have modified already so therefor false info, please use it as reference for any PC specs that I missed below:

OS System: Windows 8 Pro (6.2 Build 9200)

    System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.

    Memory: 6GB RAM

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4500 2.20GHZ

Display adapter type: Intel(R) Q35 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.0)

    DirectX version DirectX 9

(Also, my monitor costs more than my PC XD its a 22 inch 1680x1050 babe...)

So basically what I need to know is that what should I purchase with my 400-700 dollars? My monitor is ok for now but I need some electronic gaming expert to guide my money to the right direction. Or should I simply just start anew with that money and buy a new PC? Matter a fact, will any of the new generation graphics card chips fit right on my PC?

But basically my primary goal is to be able to play the new modern games of today with at-least medium graphics, such as BF4, Elder Scrolls Online, etc etc.

  • Why Does God Allow Innocents To Suffer?

Last week, my 8 year old brother was stabbed and almost killed when he was walking back to our house no more than a few blocks away. His friend, who was right next to him, died on the scene. Sure, the kid was a little mischievous, but a bright and nice kid overall. He never did anything bad before, or even his friend. And he never even knew the man who stabbed him.

A year ago, my middle-aged uncle was shot and killed because he refused to give his wallet to a mugger. He always was a very kind guy, almost loved giving me and my other siblings gifts and tell us stories. And although he wasn't as successful as his other siblings, he was my favorite. He certainly has never did anything wrong. The only crime he ever committed was that he accidentally littered in front of an officer and was fined. Funny thing is, he was always enthusiastic about life, happy that he got to live and not so many others.

5 years ago, my grandparents, another uncle, 2 aunts, and 5 children were all MURDERED by 2 people who proceeded to steal priceless possessions from the house. The police found the children's bodies in a closet, most likely trying to hide from them. I can never feel right about remembering this. And yet these were all nice and INNOCENT people.

And although all of these murderers were jailed, I still don't get it. God could've ended it easily but he didn't! And giving eternal bliss can't cover up the fact that he didn't intervene when he should! And he has before so why!? :(

  • Can't convert from 32bit Windows 7 to 64bit Windows 8, HELP!?

My situation is quite complicated really. The Windows 8 installation disc pack I'm using has been already used (The 32bit disc to be precise) on my gaming computer a little over a year ago. Since I recently saw my windows 7 computer's specs and realized its untapped RAM (and its 64bit capable!) that is unused due to the computer being 32bit I quickly got my old Windows 8 installer, using the 64bit disc for the first time. (Also note: the computer I am trying to install Windows 8 64bit is NOT the computer I already installed Windows 8 32bit, but they use both the same wi-fi and are in the the same house.)

    The result was frustrating.

No matter how many times I insert the disc and restart my computer, it will just regularly boot up to the regular Windows 7 start up page.

I don't really know what information is required to evaluate my situation, but I'm prepared to give it my all just to tap into some more RAM for my games :)
