Jonathan
I am an atheist. I used to be Christian, but I realized how paradoxical and contradictory it was. A nice list for you: http://tinyurl.com/ListForAtheists I believe that utilitarianism is the purpose of life. People get so stuck on little issues. If they would back up and look at all the ways around the issues they could move on. That is my purpose here on Yahoo! Answers. There will never be any change without sacrifice. The bigger the change, the bigger the sacrifice required. No one is willing to sacrifice, so there will never be any change. I am a complete hypocrite. Google Chrome Blur help?
For some odd reason this (picture below) happens most of the time when opening a page. It does not happen all of the time, but it still happens often and is quite annoying. I tried changing the theme but it did not make a difference.
Can anyone help?
1 AnswerGoogle9 years agoDo you believe in a 'soul' of sorts?
Personally I don't, but I'm interested to hear others' viewpoints.
5 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoHelp with a pebble stuck under my skin..?
about half a year ago I got a splinter or pebble (I don't even remember anymore) stuck under my skin on the bottom of my right foot. I, being the silly person I am, ignored it, and now that area is darker than the rest of my skin. What do you suggest for getting it out, and/or should I see a doctor?
1 AnswerSkin Conditions9 years agoHow do I view old articles on news sites?
news sites like news.yahoo.com or the washington post. I don't use them very often but now I have a need for viewing articles from around a week ago.
1 AnswerOther - Internet9 years agoAs elements and compounds, are there more solids liquids, or gases?
Elements AND compounds. I don't care that there are mostly solids on the periodic table.
1 AnswerChemistry9 years agoWhy is it so hard to believe?
Just in general.
Belief in God's existence, Belief in your friend's trustworthiness, etcetera.
I see questions every day questioning these things, and now I'm just left wondering, why can't we simply believe, instead of having doubt upon doubt?
9 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoIf you could not die of old age or be killed, how would you spend your time?
You cannot commit suicide either. You are trapped in your body.

1 AnswerChemistry10 years agoNon-transitive dice absurdity?
Strange absurdity I found. If three fair dice (A, B, and C) are numbered like so:
A: (1,1,6,6,8,8)
B: (2,2,4,4,9,9)
C: (3,3,5,5,7,7)
Then they break the transitive property of mathematics.
the transitive property states:
If A=B, and B=C, then A=C.
or If A>B, and B>C, then A>C.
but with these dice, C>B, B>A, and A>C.
each have a 5/9 or 4/9 probability of beating each other. (depending on which one is against which)
I just found this odd. any thoughts?

To become evil in order to destroy evil, or to put up with the current evil and lessen it a bit.
For the sake of the question, assume that there is an evil, and that you have the ability to do both. You are the only one with the ability to do either of them, so you can't simply get several of your friends and weaken it until it no longer exists. If you could only do one, which would you choose? You must choose, and after choosing, you die. Use the generally accepted definition for evil.
Definition of choices:
To become evil to destroy evil: To use evil tactics in order to get rid of the current evil.
To put up with the current evil and lessen it a bit: To join the system and try to lessen the evil from inside.

I am halfway between Christianity and Atheism, and I would like an argument to these in favor of Christianity.
