Can I buy and insure a car in New York with an out of state license?
I live in NY but I have a FL drivers license. I want to buy a car here but I'd rather not have to change my license if I really don't need to. So can I buy a car here, register it and get it insured with my Fl license?
Also... What would I need to do or paperwork would I need to have to get my car registered or does the dealer take care of that kind of thing?

I recently moved to New York from Florida and I need to change my license. I want to know how much it will cost b/c no one seems to be able to tell me aside from going to the dmv and asking in person. I've already tried calling and it's a pain in the ***. I need to know so I don't get there and find out I don't have enough money. Then it's all just a waste of time that I don't have.
