  • Bruised and sore big toes?

    Hi there,

For a while now I've had painful big toes. It feels like I have a cut on or under my big toe. It also feels bruised and will throb if I touch it. My other toes r completely fine and just both of my big toes hurt.

Sometimes it will feel badly bruised and others it will feel like I have cut on the nail. I don't wear tight fitting shoes. Could it be a in growing toenail? It hurts even touching it with my fingers or pressing down on my big toe

    What could it be?

    Thanks

  • Severe pain in jaw, hot cheek and now blocked ear?

    Hi there.

I am a TMJ sufferer and have been for 4 or 5 years now. It had never caused me real problems apart from some minor pain when stressed.

Last night a severe pain(8/10) started in my right side on my jaw and my jaw was boiling this went on for a few hours so I took some inubefen which didn't help. I rubbed some deep heat which helped but there was a constant crackling/sizzling sound in my ear. Today i woke up with no pain in jaw but a blocked ear.

What could this be. Never had pain like that before!

    Thanks

  • Canon 7D + Canon 100-400mm IS L lens - Photographing Birds?!?

    Hi there,

    I have recently (October 2012) bought a Canon 7D with a Canon 100-400mm IS L lens.

I mainly focus on Wildlife for photographing. I have had some really nice images with this setup but nothing amazing, wondering if someone could help with sweet spots on this camera.

I have found ISO 1250 works really well but can be grainy when blue sky.

It is suppose to be sunny tomorrow and maybe even blue sky so heading out trying to photograph some Ospreys which may be in flight or sat in a tree!

    Any tips are greatly appreciated!

  • Pain in Knee, when crouching, bending or leaning on it.....?

    Hi there,

For almost 2 weeks now, I have had a painful knee by painful its more of a discomfort.

I can walk on it fine. It hurts when: I bend it, lean on it, keep it still for a while, get up from sitting down, using the stairs and it also hurts when I cross my legs (so my good leg is leaning on my bad knee)

I have been splinting the joint, rubbing deep heat gel on it and taking ibuprofen but hasn't been getting better. I would say I am noticing it more every day.

I suffer from TMJ, which is a joint disorder but it affects my jaw bone, the doctor told me it wouldn't affect my other joints.

I am visiting the doctors on Friday but just wanted a idea of what it could be!

    Thanks

  • Severe Shoulder/Neck Pain?

    Hi there,

I woke up this morning with severe (8/10) pain in my shoulder and neck.

I have take Ibuprofen, tried ice packs and hot water bottles, deep heat gel but nothing has worked.

Its a sharp burning/stinging feeling on my left shoulder. I can move my right arm fine, my left arm fine.

But if I move my left shoulder back it gives a little pain, my neck can turn any direction, but turning it left is VERY painful.

I sleep on my back and side and never had pain like this before.

    What could it be?

Doctors isn't open until tomorrow, so need help until then

  • Sore Throat + Cough ?

    Hi there,

Since last Wednesday night I have had a slight sore throat and a cough. This has been getting slightly worse over the past few days and is now getting better. My sore throat feels as if there is something stick in my throat, it is a stinging/burning feeling especially if I take a deep breath in. My cough is a dry cough and chesty cough if I lie down, it isn't too bad in the day, but at night I wake up at least three or four times coughing, and have to have a glass of water to calm it down. If im sat down for a while, my chest feels very slightly tighter than normal. I don't have a fever or a cold.

At night I keep water by my bed and breath in steam with a little bit of vapor rub, this helps clear it for a while but not long enough for me to get to sleep.

Throat sweets don't help as they make my throat really dry which makes me cough more.

Anyone know any remedies for it to help me?

    Thanks

  • Newborn and Child Shoot?

    Hello,

I own a Canon 1000D, 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens and tripod. I don't own a studio or any studio lighting as I focus on Wildlife and Landscape so this is completely different!

I have been asked by friends to take some pictures of their newborns.

The first shoot is on Saturday (17th) and it will be of a 1 month old baby girl and a 6 year old boy (brother and sister).

The second shoot is on Saturday (24th) and it will be a newborn (few weeks old) and the mum and dad.

How can I create my homemade studio?

Any tips or advice is hugely appreciated.

    Thanks

  • BT Infinity + Flickr Problems ?

I have just had BT infinity done, I uploaded to Flickr that day no problems at all, since then it hasn't worked.

No error messages appear it just doesn't upload

    I have tried:

    Restarting the computer

A different computer (college one, doesn't sign in to Flickr using my email and password, just keep asking me to enter my password no error messages - password 100% correct and email)

Trying different photographs (edited and unedited)

    Clearing the history + cache

Restarting flickr (signing out and back in)

    Firefox + Internet Explorer

Flickr Uploader, upload on website (basic uploader says the internet has been reset but internet still works . Tried using the normal upaloder on Flickr it says - BONK! None of your files made it, try again or cancel.)

Uploads fine to Picasa webalbums and facebook though

All of this and still nothing.

    Help please.

    Thanks in advance

  • Eyes Feel Heavy, Tired, Itchy ?

    Hi there,

Over the past few days I have noticed my eyes have been feeling tired and heavy very soon after getting up. I always need to keep rubbing them as they are itchy and if don't, it feels as if my eyes will shut and fall asleep sort of thing.

I have always had a lazy eye but never had this before.

    What could this be?

    Thanks

  • Selling Photographs Online ?

    Hi everyone!

I'm 17 years old and my dream job would be to become a professional photographer and sell my photographs worldwide.

I have been doing photography for around 4 years now and currently study it at college.

I mainly focus on wildlife and landscapes as that is what I enjoy most.

I was just wondering where I could start of selling my photographs, preferably a free website to start with to see how well they sell.

    Thanks to everyone in advance..

  • Long Exposure Seascape Shots?

    Hi there,

I will be staying down in Burnham-On-Sea for a couple of days, I want to do some long exposure shots, but not very good with settings etc...

I own a Canon 1000D, will be taking my 18-55mm lens and my tripod for the couple of days. I don't currently own a remote shutter, it won't be here in time if I order it now.

I am planning to go down on the beach just before sunset (hopefully having a good sunset).

    What settings will I need?

I was thinking of around a ISO of 100/200 depending on lighting.

Shutter speed of 30 seconds and experimenting with the shutter and aperture.

I want to get the waves and hopefully the tide coming in/going out.

There is also a lighthouse there so would love a nice long exposure of the lighthouse.

Any tips and advice you would give me, would be a great help.

    Thanks

  • Sore Throat When Swallowing?

    Hi there,

Since last night, i have had a sore throat but only when swallowing, ok otherwise.

When I swallow, it stings a little and feels quite tight. I can eat and drink ok.

A little red spot has appeared at back of throat but all ok otherwise.

I have tried tablets, throat sweets and gargling with mouthwash.

What else can I try to make it better?

Does get a little better after eating.

Doctors isn't open now until Monday, what can I do until then?

    Thanks

  • "Small" Photographers?

    Hi there,

For my AS Photography Exam, I have chosen to base my work on 'Small' by this I'm choosing to use perspective to make big objects look small and vice versa.

So I'm going to be photographing animals, people, flowers, insects, pets.....

I need to analyse two photographers work and write about them and anaylse some of their photographs.

Do you know of any photographers that I could use for my 'Small' Project.

    Thanks in advance.
