before i changed my 02 sensors a mechanic raised my idle higher so i can drive -after changing the 02 sensors car runs great-idle is too high -using too much gas and smells rich---where can i find this adjustment to drop my idle thanks

My van would not go -so I changed the power booster -the car is running better but sometimes -it feels like it is not firing -and hops -can anyone tell me what to do next -I changed idle air control valve -no difference-would changing the 02 sensor help?
