So my "dad" aka monster wanted to feed my dog that would make him sick but he didn't think it would make him sick so my mom gave him a little amount ( less than the size of a penny) and he didn't want to eat it so he said "I'm bringing him downstairs" and I said " It's time for him to eat, give him to me" and I tried to get the dog out of his hands but he didn't, he wanted to have the dog with him so I said " You can have him after he's done eating" but he still wasn't taking it and kept yelling at me and then my mom came in and told him that the dog needs to eat and after he can have him he then said his 'patience' was running out and I then said " Well after the dog eats you can have him" He then grabbed me throat and started choking me, I then ( being the person I am ) defended myself and chocked him back, he then let go of me and I screamed "you tried to kill me, someone should call the cops" I then grabbed my phone and tried going upstairs to my room, he then said "give me the phone" I then tried going upstairs and he tried to grab it from me, I kept switching hands, and he then almost broke my arm and said go upstairs, you grounded.

What I want to know is if I could press any charges against him
