I'm a guitarist/bassist of 10 years, so I understand how music works.

I'm teaching myself to play piano, specifically interested in a Middle Eastern/fusion sound.

I've figured out a D minor Arabic scale and some chords, but I've been unsuccessful in searching for books, lessons, videos that will teach me how to play easy, fun songs using Arabic scales. It would be great to find some introductory material I can learn to start becoming a proficient player.

Do you know anything that will help me out? Do you have advice that will get my playing to the next level, not just screwing around with scales and low-level improv?

Also, any advice on how to get better at using both hands?

Sat 2/25. How should I spend my day?

I met this girl on the internet, whos pretty amazing so far. Shes really into me too, and we decided to finally meet in person and go out soon. She looks like she'd be incredible to hook up with, and I havnt been with anyone for a really long time. I've been single and celibate for several years, and I'm afraid that hanging out with her will lead to romance, only to be disrupted by me moving... I'm moving out of state by the end of the month - if I stay I have nowhere to live or work.

So, should I:

A) Not meet with her at all, and wonder if we could have had something, but also avoid potential heartache and dissapointment

B) Go out, but be honest about my near future plans

C) Go out, and not tell her, and just see what happens

D) Go out, and not tell her, and try to hook up with her

E) suggestions?

I've been planning this move for years, but if we have a deep connection like I think we could, it would be horrible to leave her, for both of us. I've been looking for a special woman to keep around for years, and it may have finally come, not at a good time.

Regarding sex, I don't want to disrespect her by gettin in her pants and then disappearing. But I also want to try to sleep with her cuz she's gorgeous and its been a really long time, haha! I'm not really sure what her values are about premarital sex, but I like to think she'd be ok with it.

How do I manage all of this while being fair to her? In my perfect world, we'd hang out for a month, have frequent sex, and then say our goodbyes in a civil manner, keeping in contact in the future...but women dont think like that, I'm assuming..

So what are your thoughts?

If I wanted to pursue a career in teaching high school, what would be the easiest way at this point to get qualified? I'd like to take as few classes as possible.

Is it a good idea to say that I'm relocating when following up on applications via phone/email?

The reason I ask is because theres a job in Florida I really want, and I'm wondering if employers down there really hate northerners moving down. Its a 15 hour drive, so I want to tell them so they know my situation, but at the same time I dont want them to not consider me for it...

My chevy truck payment is $450/mo and its killing my finances. I'm tired of driving it too. I've paid 18 months out of 60. I wanna get rid of it while theres only 25,000 miles on it.

I want to trade it in for a sedan, and a lower monthy payment. But, I dont really know anything about the whole process. For max value will I have to go through chevy again? Or will another company like Volkswagon for example accept the trade for buying a new Passat or something?

I need to be steered in the right direction, but the bottom line is I wanna get rid of this Colorado.

I have roughly 100 poems that are written in notebooks in a stack. Some are good, some are great : P

I was thinking I should make them into a book. Whats the best way to go about it? I know nothing about publishing. How can I make $ off of it? Is it better to have the book(s) themed? How many should actually be included? Is it better to "save" some for later, or just put everything I have into the first one?

not while i'm turning, just going down the road. it goes in and out, and "grinding" may not be the best word to describe it, but i dont know how else to.

my battery completely died two days ago, and i had it replaced, now i hear this sound.

theres also another sound thats been long before and after thats weird too. it similar to the wheel noise, it also goes in and out and sounds like somethings winding, grinding, or turning - its so unidentifiable I cant think of a good vocab description. its coming from the center console/stock cd player area. its quieter than the new sound, and not as "intense"

I'm from Northern Virginia, and I'm tired of the rat race, the people, the politics, cookie-cutter lifestyles, and the lack of inspiration in general.

So I went to college in Southern Virginia. I'm tired of the AWFUL roads, average lifstyle of all aspects (nothings really that great or that bad about the place). The beaches arent that nice, and I have no real connection to the people here either.

Moving north into MD or further is not an option.

I don't like the idea of the South because of the cultural differences of blacks and whites - i fit in with anyone, no time to think about "sides". I might make an exception if theres a city I like.

So where should I move? I'm open to wherever. What countries can a US citizen get a visa to?

Anyone live in the Denver metro area? What are your thoughts?
