  • Car's HVAC system poisoning me?

My car smelled like Easter egg dye when I first got in it today. It was weird but went away soon. I did quite a bit of driving though and now I feel light-headed and just generally out of it. I'm worried something might be leaking in the system. It's only a 2015 so the possibility of a catalytic converter problem seems unlikely. Any ideas?

  • master cylinder issues, please help?

So a few days ago I popped open my hood and noticed hardly any fluid at all in my master cylinder. Topped it off and took it to the dealer where they supposedly replaced the entire assembly and the power booster since it had leaked onto that as well. But the bottom of the reservoir is still wet if you run your hand along it. Checked the level in the cylinder and it looks fine. Clutch and brakes still seem to work great. Any advice? Not sure if this should be concerning

  • How have manual transmissions evolved over time?

I learned to drive a stick on my friend's old 1991 Jeep Cherokee, and when I bought my next car (a 2013 with a manual transmission), I was amazed at how smoothly the clutch engaged and how it was relatively easy to get used to. I'm just wondering if anyone could explain the improvements that auto manufacturers have put into the manual transmission over the years? Type of clutch/alterations to the transmission as a whole/etc. Just curious.

  • What is your experience with Ford?

So I just bought a new car, it's a 2013 Ford Focus. People rag on Ford a lot, but I have to hand it to them, the new Focus seems great compared to recent model years. I bought the car understanding the risks that go with purchasing any new vehicle, and for the fact that people that I know who do have Fords have no issues. I plan on taking great care of the car and keeping up with its maintenance. I've heard about the transmission woes with Ford recently, but I believe it's primarily their automatic transmissions, and mine is a 5-speed manual. So I guess I'd just like to know what your personal experience with Ford is. Only people who take care of their car, please.

  • A question about blood type?

I recently donated blood and got my donor card in the mail. I have type O negative. My mom is O positive, and my dad is A positive, how is it genetically possible for me to have a negative Rh factor? No jokes about me being adopted, I've seen my birth certificate, just looking for a biological explanation. Thanks!

  • Do I have a problem- Sorry long description.?

I feel like people think that there's something wrong with me just because I'm honest, I see what's going on around me, and I label it for what it is. I don't lie to myself, or to other people. I wish that I was in a better mood because I'm pretty much constantly stressed out, agitated, and bored. I seek fulfillment in life that just doesn't ever arrive, for whatever reason(s). It could be that there is very little to do where I live and money is tight, or it could be that many ideas don't appeal to me, or a mixture of both. If it wasn't for the fact that I'd feel like I was lying to myself, I'd talk to a professional and maybe even get medicine, but I feel like it's important to see the world for what it is rather than sugar coat it and walk around essentially high all the time. My parents are both on antidepressants and very little seems to bother them, although my dad does have a temper when it comes to things that he feels strongly about (things of which he is more often than not extremely misinformed and ignorant). Growing up, I felt like a burden because I was hyperactive and silly, and because I've always had a drive to do something fulfilling with my life, and although my extended family is far worse than my immediate, I come from a family that is pretty content to just sit on their ***, and doesn't understand why I can't just roll over and do that. I feel like they ignore the fact that I'm a good person, educated, and charismatic because I don't act like they do. Meanwhile, my sister, the planned child, the youngest, and thus, the favorite, has a great life even though she's probably going absolutely nowhere. Does knowing all of these things make me strange? Do I have a problem? I've spent so much time telling myself that everyone else is at fault because frankly, I don't want to be at fault because I've done nothing wrong. Someone help??

  • A question for airline pilots?

    Hello,

I'd like some general information on the life of an airline pilot, specifically if you're a pilot with a spouse and children. How often do you get to see them, and is the pay, benefits, and just generally adventerous job worth the hardships?

  • Car seems to lug in what seems like a good gear?

If I'm traveling at 35 m.p.h. and holding that constant with my foot on the gas (neither accelerating nor decelerating), shouldn't 3rd gear be around appropriate for that speed? It seems that my R.P.M.s are already at 2500 if I'm doing this speed, and thus, I need to shift. Maybe my car just has really small ranges for its gears? What do you think??

  • Shallow vs. Preference. What do we consider the difference?

Why is it that when guys have a physical preference for what they like women to look like, it's considered shallow, but whenever women have the same sort of preferences for men, it's not considered shallow? Double standard much? Shouldn't shallowness be shallowness regardless of who's doing it? Everyone is so quick to jump on a guy because he prefers thin women, but when a woman refuses to date a perfectly good guy just because he's short, no one says anything? Am I the only one who thinks that's messed up? And please, no answers that have to do with natural selection or how women naturally prefer men who are taller than them for hunting/gathering purposes or w/e. We're human beings. We're capable of advanced thought and more significant reasons to be attracted to someone, right?

  • Do you think that I can sing well?

I'm thinking of auditioning for a show choir and I need unbiased opinions from people who don't know me on my voice. If I suck, please spare me the sympathy and just tell me. Here's me singing one of my favorite songs...

  • Why do people from different decades look old?

If you look at a picture of a graduating HS class from 1995 and a pic of a graduating class of 2005, the people in 1995 look 30-year-olds even though they were only 17 or 18 at the time. Why is that? Are we aging more slowly now, or is it just cosmetics and improved hygeine?

  • Question about abdominal pain?

I'm a young guy. In my early 20s. As far as I know, I'm healthy. I had asthma as a kid but I don't think that has anything to do with now. For at least several months now, I get these sharp pains in my lower-stomach area. They feel like gas pains and they're extremely uncomfortable. They usually happen around the same time of day. Sometimes after eating, sometimes completely sporadic. I'm not too particularly concerned that it's anything serious, since it's not like I always have diarrhea or anything like that. And I can always go to the bathroom just fine when I get them. But what is causing those pains? Something in my diet? A disorder? It's not a virus. I just had an episode a few minutes ago and now I'm hungry. Please don't tell me to see a doctor. If I could afford one, I'd go. Thanks in advance =)

  • Stuff in computer's search history that I've never looked up?

    Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone could explain why something would appear in my search history that I've never even heard of, much less looked up. No one uses my computer besides me, and I'm 100% sure of that but earlier I found "The Men Who Stare at Sheep" in my history. Apparently it's some movie that came out in 2009. Any feedback would be great, thanks.

  • A Question NOT for government workers?

So my friend's husband shaved his head recently and in doing so, he found a bar code tattoed to his scalp. He's never been drunk in his life and has no clue how it got there? Theories? Admittedly, he's a bit more concerned than I am. I'm moreso amused. But it is scary stuff.

  • Hate my own voice?? Help?

I'm just looking for an honest opinion on something. I plan to take singing lessons soon, and I've recorded myself a few times and I can't stand the way it sounds. I want to learn to sing, but is it something that either you can do or can't do? I'm also aware that most people hate their voices because it sounds nothing like what they hear in their heads when they speak. That goes for singing or just talking. Any advice or insight?

  • A Collective Opinion Question...?

I recently noticed a surplus of people on Facebook joining the group "I'm the girl. You're the guy. You text me first or we don't talk today". I'm looking for as much feedback as I can on this, so feel free to answer honestly. Is this not completely primative and stupid? If there is anyone out there who agrees with the notion that this facebook group supports, can you explain why? For everyone else, why is it that people are stuck in the 1950s when it comes to gender roles? Why is it so hard to grasp that men also have feelings and they DO notice when they're doing all the work in a relationship? Most guys that I know are NOT horndogs who have no feelings. I basically want to know why it's so difficult for people to understand that guys have needs too, and need to feel wanted. And yes, I'm a guy, but big whoop. Of course I am. What woman would ever question something that worked in her favor?

  • Can anyone offer an interpretation of this dream?

In this dream, a girl that I've been dating for a very short time (less than a week) and I are in a mall. We find ourselves in a very nice store where the employees are wearing suits and dresses. We're looking at sets of rings for us both to wear, but they don't look like engagement rings or wedding rings. They're both just flat bands with a greenish water-color mix look to them. Once again, they aren't stereotypical rings, and no where in the dream do we mention anything related to engagement or marriage. But we both really like the identitcal green rings and we laugh and joke with each other as we put them on and prepare to pay the guy. When he shows us the price, he's speaking English with an American accent (we're both American in real life) but the prices are in Euros. (I studied abroad in France last semester and loved it, and really miss it. Thinking that may be why). AND we pay for the rings. in Euros. in an American store. Any ideas anyone?

  • Vibration in the ear?

Does anyone know any particular reason why I would have a vibration in my eardrum when I speak that matches my voice in time and pitch? It's been going on intermittently for a few days now and I'm starting to get concerned. I'm 20 years old. I'm a white male who's otherwise healthy. Not overweight. Extremely light drinker. I've heard this is a symptom for M.S.....does anyone know???
