I've been playing with computers since 1971; I began doing so for money in 1985 in an applied mathematical context. I started doing nothing but software development for a living in 1994. I rarely answer questions as perfectly as I possibly could - few people want, need, or would even understand my version of a perfect answer. I try to offer a little more insight into the problem-space, while keeping my answers within the probable capacity to understand implied by the question. Teaching has to occur within the bounds of the student's capacity to grasp.
