  • Can memory cards go bad ?

    I have a Canon digital and a 2.0 gb Sandisk memory card. I took about 250 pics and transferrred via a cable from my camera to my computer. All went smoothly and easily. Then I took another 200 or so photos and when I tried to transfer to my computer like I did before, the blue light on my Canon does not come on, there is no transfer menu, my camera says no images and computer says cannot detect any images on memory card. Is my memory card bad ? It worked fine the first 3-4 times. Thanks for your answers.

    I have never owned a digital camera, and would like to buy a Canon Digital. I only need it for taking photos so I can put on my computer. I am not a professional so to speak and maybe 5, 6 pixels if ok with me. Can someone recommend a model number and what it might cost ? Thanks
