What if there's no real answer to David Lynch's films?
For years people have analyzed and interpreted David Lynch's surreal movies in different ways. Everyone has always been trying to find the meaning of some elements, or even just the plot.
What if, though, there is no meaning? That Lynch is just putting his films together with seemingly random but connecting elements as well as the more-or-less consistent story in them, but keeping them related enough that people will make their own stories on them. This can also explain why he refuses to answer any questions: Because there is no answer, because he didn't intend anything but to waste your time.
With that in mind, maybe Lynch is actually smarter than we thought. Is this plausible?
2 AnswersMovies7 years agoCan somebody explain the Twelfth Doctor's existence?
In Doctor Who, the Doctor is supposed to have only 13 different incarnations. However, because of the War Doctor (and apparently Ten's rejection regeneration), that would make Matt Smith the 13th Doctor, right? For years we've called him 11, but he explained how he'd actually be 13.
My question is: If the Doctor can only have 13 lives, how come he has a new regeneration cycle for Peter Capaldi's Doctor?
Also, what happened with the Valeyard? I haven't watched any Sixth Doctor serials yet, but apparently the Valeyard was supposed to have been created between the 12th and 13th incarnations. If Matt Smith is actually the 13th incarnation, how does the Valeyard fit into the mix?
1 AnswerDrama7 years agoIn the film "Muholland Drive", what's the name of the actor who played as the man behind the diner? (minor spoiler)?
I've never seen the movie, but I've watched this scene and it's actually kind of scary.
During the beginning of the movie, a man is talking to his friend at a diner about a nightmare he had. There was a horrible face behind the diner, and he wants to see if it's really there, so they investigate. I suppose he sees the man like in his dream just there, and he faints. The man sure was ugly.
What I'm wondering is, who's the actor that played as him? I tried looking him up, but since he doesn't seem to have a name, I can't find the actor. People have described him as the nightmare man or the hobo, but I still don't know who plays him.
1 AnswerMovies7 years agoIs there any way to read the third edition of The Hobbit that Tolkien abandoned in 1960?
After Lord of the Rings was published, Tolkien had decided to rewrite The Hobbit to fit it in tone-wise with its sequel. However, after the third chapter, this was abandoned, since it just "wasn't The Hobbit".
Have these documents, of what the third edition would be, ever been published? I'm curious to see how the first three chapters would have looked like.
3 AnswersBooks & Authors7 years agoIs there a website where I can watch all Ninja Turtles series online?
Every TMNT series from the 1987 original, the 2003 version, and the 2012 version.
I don't need the "Next Mutation" series.
1 AnswerComics & Animation7 years agoIn Walking Dead: Season 2, how will my data from Season 1 be carried over?
I've yet to play Season 2 (mostly because I'm waiting until all the episodes come out), but I'm aware that whatever data and choices I had for Season 1 and 400 Days will be carried over.
However, I'm actually playing Season 1 multiple times to get different results in the game. What I'm wondering is will Season 2 choose a random save file I had, or will I be able to choose a specific one to build Clementine off from?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games7 years agoHow do I change the screen position on different slides on my wallpaper?
This might be a little hard to explain.
Basically, I use Windows 7. I have multiple images I want to use as wallpaper, and I have it set to slideshow. The "picture position" for all of them are on "fill", but for some of them, this cuts part of the image off. For others, it centers it perfectly. I want to know how to make different screen positions for different pictures in the same wallpaper slideshow.
For example, for picture 1, I want it to be set to "tile". For picture 2, I want it to be set to "center". For picture 3, I want it to be set to "fill". How do I do this?
2 AnswersOther - Computers7 years agoWith DC building its own cinematic universe, is it possible for there to be a Crisis on Infinite Earths film?
Just think about it. There have been a ton of live-action versions of the characters. It'd probably be a terrible movie, but it might be possible.
The Superman cast could be:
Henry Cavill (Man of Steel)
Brandon Routh (Superman Returns; the same Superman character Christopher Reeves played)
Tom Welling (Smallville)
Dean Cain (Lois & Clark)
The Batman cast could be:
Ben Affleck (Currently cast in the upcoming films)
Christian Bale (Dark Knight Trilogy)
George Clooney (Batman & Robin; he was signed on to do a few more sequels before they shelved them, so he pretty much was THE Batman in that universe; same character Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer played)
Adam West (Old Batman TV series)
The Flash cast could be:
Whoever's playing him in the new movies. (I don't know if it's confirmed yet.)
Grant Gustin (Arrow)
Bart Allen (Smallville)
John Wesley Shipp (Flash TV series)
Plus other heroes who have played previous incarnations.
Just a thought. Is it possible?
2 AnswersComics & Animation7 years agoCan somebody explain the "new" Marvel Animated Universe?
I know recently there have been a few new Marvel animated series on Disney XD, and they all seem to take place in the same universe. Sort of similar to what they did back in the 90's and what DC did in the 90's-2000's.
But what are all the shows that are in this universe?
I know of these:
Ultimate Spider-man
Hulk and the agents of SMASH
Wolverine and the X-Men
The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes
Avengers Assemble
The last two Avengers cartoons are what confuse me. I haven't seen either of them yet, but it seems like they both take place in the same world as "Ultimate Spider-man", and I know the former takes place in the same world as "Wolverine and the X-Men". Is "Assemble" a sequel, or a complete replacement to "Earth's Mightiest Heroes"?
Also, are there any features that take place in this universe? I heard the "Hulk vs." films are part of this world, but I'm not sure about that.
3 AnswersComics & Animation7 years agoIf I wanted to play Assassin's Creed, would I need to play each game in the series?
I'm the type of guy who's very concerned with continuity. If there are extra chapters in a book or extra episodes in a TV show, I would prefer to see them so I can get the full story. Video games are of course no different.
I haven't played any Assassin's Creed game, and I'm interested in starting with the first. However, I want to know if I need to play the non-numbered games to get the full story. I know the main character in AC2 has two more sequels, but the other ones don't seem to.
Is Assassin's Creed an anthology series where none of the games effect another, like "Final Fantasy" or "Legend of Zelda", or is it the type of series based heavily on story, and each game effects the next, like "Kingdom Hearts"?
3 AnswersVideo & Online Games8 years agoIn Kingdom Hearts, if there are seven hearts of pure light, are there any hearts of pure darkness?
NOTE: I'm a little rusty on Kingdom Hearts lore, so I don't exactly remember the reason the seven hearts of pure light (aka princesses of heart) exist.
There cannot be darkness without light or light without darkness. There must always be a balance. However, seven characters (Snow White, Cinderella, Alice, Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, Kairi) have hearts that are completely void of darkness; they are pure light.
But if this is true, then does that mean there are seven hearts that are void of light; pure darkness? And maybe they have some connection to the princesses.
Now, I know for a fact that there has yet to be any mention of seven hearts of pure darkness, but I'm just wondering if this is a possibility. COULD there be hearts of pure darkness to balance with the hearts of pure light?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games8 years agoWhy do Slasher movie villains kill people? What's their motive?
I've never seen the popular Slasher films (I prefer to learn about the characters), but I'm just curious as to the reason why characters like Jason, Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Pinhead, Ghostface, etc. kills people. Do they seek revenge, are they evil, or do they just want to have fun?
1 AnswerMovies8 years agoDoes this graph follow the correct conditions?
I'm supposed to draw a graph that satisfies certain conditions:
The domain is all real numbers.
The input of 1 has outputs of -2 and 3.
The output of 4 has inputs of 5 and -7.

Note: I am NOT asking you to solve it for me. I'm just asking for you to check my work to see if I did it right. I can solve it on my own, I just want to know if I made a mistake.
1 AnswerHomework Help8 years agoWhat is the name of this really old Pixar short, or development of Toy Story?
I remember seeing in a Pixar documentary a short that was made before Toy Story, but had early versions of Woody and Buzz. The Woody was cruel, and knocks Buzz down.
"Andy loves toys that can fly."
"Really? Too infinity and beyond!"
*he knocks him down*
"Andy loves toys that he can find."
I think that's how the dialogue goes. It was hilarious and I'd like to know the name of it, or a clip of it on Youtube or something.
1 AnswerComics & Animation8 years agoIn Doctor Who, is it possible that The Master from 1996 movie is the same form as played in "Utopia"?
I know two actors that played as The Master for a short time were Eric Roberts, in the TV movie, and Derek Jacobi, in the Tenth Doctor episode "Utopia". I know often at times timelords are seen with different forms, and The Master has been seen with multiple. But also what I've noticed in the series is that timelords can age. They seem to age much slower than a human, but with the First Doctor looking like a 55 year old man while he was around 700 years, that's sort of how I gathered it (also from timelords seen as children, like Susan or the Master).
Because of this slow age process, I'm curious if it's possible that The Master from the 1996 movie is the same form as in "Utopia", just much younger. It was around 4 trillion years between the two timelines of the serials.
Note: I have yet to actually watch the television movie, so I don't know if the fight between him and the Eighth Doctor was fatal.
1 AnswerDrama8 years agoWhen will be the next time "Doctor Who" episodes are added to Netflix Instant?
I just got done watching all the episodes available there, so I was wondering if there are any news on the next time episodes are added. I know the second half of Season 7 begins tomorrow, so I don't expect those episodes for a long time. But what about the first half? "Asylum of the Daleks" through "The Snowmen"?
2 AnswersDrama8 years agoIn "Doctor Who", how does River Song know the Doctor's name?
I just finished watching "The Wedding of River Song", and in that the Doctor whispers something into her ear. She says that it's his name, but it's revealed later it was actually "look into my eye". The only episode left that I know she's in is "The Angels Take Manhattan", so I don't know if the answer is there.
But if it isn't, then how does River know the Doctor's name?
