  • Office Gift Exchange Ideas? $10 Limit?

My team at work is having a "White Elephant" gift exchange with a $10 limit. I'm trying to avoid a gift card and I'm not looking to buy a gag gift. Since the exchange will take place at work, gifts must be business appropriate. 10 points to the best suggestion! Thanks!

  • I have dry skin, but lotion makes me hot and sweaty?

Whenever I apply lotion, it makes me feel very hot and I sweat more than usual. Is this normal? Any "light" lotions you can recommend? I've tried many different types, from scented Bath&Body works types to unscented Eucerin and other 'dermatologist recommended' lotions, all seem to make me sweat.

  • Why would someone stand up to talk on the phone in a cubicle?

I have been working in an office environment for a while now, but at my current employer, I have noticed an annoying trend. Some people near me stand up in their cubicle and look/move around (as much as you can with the phone cord...) while talking on the phone. I understand some people like to pace when they talk - I'm guilty of this from time to time. But I don't do it at work!

At my work, the cubicles have short walls, so as if this place wasn't loud enough, someone who stands to talk really carries over into my cube and is very distracting. I find it very rude and inconsiderate!

Has anyone else ever seen this in a work environment? Do you think it is rude or am I just being anal?

  • What should I get my Dad for his birthday?

My dad is in his mid-50's and is VERY hard to shop for. He does not like sports, isn't very technical, and is an old country boy. His only remaining pastimes are fishing and watching TV. I would buy him fishing gear, however he is very particular about what he uses (he's returned almost every fishing item my mom has ever got him..) I really didn't want to get him a gift card because I like to give more personal gifts. Any suggestions? I was thinking of spending $50~$100 on him.

  • What makes a haircut worth more money?

I come from a family of meager origin, so as I've grown up I have always gone to cheap places such as Hair Cuttery to get my hair cut. I am considering going to an expensive salon because their website advertises a lot of great services geared directly towards curly hair (which I have). Their curly hair design cut and style starts at $135 which I am having a hard time swallowing because I have never paid so much for my hair! My hair has just always been pretty plain and I'd like to do more with it, but I really don't know what to expect of a higher end salon. What can their 'expertise' bring to my hair that is worth so much?

  • What is included in routine blood work?

I have been concerned that I might be developing anemia because my diet is very poor. My doctor told me that my last blood work up was fine, but I wasn't sure if that included vitamin deficiencies. I am curious to know what is typically included in yearly routine blood work ups, if anyone has more info, please share! Thanks :-)
