Will math professors writing me LORs for Law School hurt me?
I graduated with a degree in Mathematics, so naturally most of the professors who are familiar with my work ethic are math professors. Will getting my letters of recommendations from be a hindrance in applying for law school, given that those professors probably know nothing about law school?
1 AnswerPrimary & Secondary Education6 years agoJazz recommendations?
My knowledge of jazz currently is limited to just the basics, like Miles Davis. Kind of Blue is my favorite album I've heard in the genre so far, with flamenco sketches being my favorite piece on that album. I'm not picky about the type of jazz either, so as long as it's something that you find interesting in the genre, or subgenre, I'm open to listening to it.
10 AnswersJazz6 years agoShould I cancel my lsat score?
Long story short, I honestly had to guess an at least half of the logic games. I just panicked and was unable to come up with anything. Every other section I feel confident about, but I know I messed up the logic games.
This was my first time taking the lsat and I would hate to have to take it again in february and not be able to go to law school until 2016. What is my best course of action?
2 AnswersStandards & Testing6 years agoAny advice on taking the LSAT?
On my test runs I've been making about 157 on average, which is pretty poor, and its mostly the reading and logic games section which give me the most trouble. I usually miss out on an important detail while panicking over time. For people who've passed, what strategies have you used to help yourself deal with the time restraint?

4 AnswersMathematics7 years agoProof: The union of 2 connected sets is connected if they have a non-empty intersection?
Any help would be appreciated! Every example I've seen starts this way: A and B are connected. Assume X and Y are disjoint non empty open sets such that AUB=XUY. Since A and B both contain point x, x must either be in X or Y. Assume X. Then A intersect X is open. This is the part I dont get. Why must their intersection be open? We dont know that A is open.
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoHelp understanding cosets?
I know the gh : h in H definition, but I dont understand what this implies. Why does the subgroup H of Z6 containing elements 0 through 3 have the coset 0,3 and 1,4?
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoWhat movie is this shower scene from?
I remember seeing it when I was very young, so it probably came out before the 2000's. There's a scene of a woman taking a shower, and the scene is played like someone is about to attack her, but instead it's just her boyfriend or something that scared her in the shower. She says "Oh Dino, it's you!" or "Oh Dino, you scared me!" something like that. I think the name was Dino, but I could be wrong. Also, nudity was shown, hence why I remember this scene so well.
1 AnswerMovies7 years agoWhy are there so many ads on every site I go to now?
On google about how half the page is ads now. And not just small ads, about a paragraph of text for each ad. It's the same with youtube and every and every other site I go to now. Also, sometimes when I click a link, even if its just a yahoo article or something, it takes me to an ad. It seems like all of this happened to me overnight. What is the issue here?

3 AnswersChemistry7 years agoCan someone explain these ATCQ lyrics to me?
It's from Jazz (We've Got), and these are the lyrics I don't understand
Then cool out to the music cos it makes you feel serene
With the birds and the bees and all those groovy things
Like getting stomach aches when you gotta go to work
Or staring into space when you're feeling berserk
I really like these lyrics a lot. I really relate to the "stomach aches when you gotta go to work" part, but from the previous bar he's giving a list of "groovy things", which means stomach aches and feeling berserk are supposed to be groovy things? I just never understood that.
1 AnswerRap and Hip-Hop7 years agoDefending your favorite band's worst album?
Typically, when someone has a favorite band or artist, they embrace their body of work, or at least appreciate some albums that were shunned by the general public. Which album would this be for you? Why do you defend it?
For me it's King Crimson's "The Construktion of Light". A lot of people disliked the programmed drums and industrial sound, but I saw it as a natural progression of KC's experimental nature, and it still retained the unsettling tone they're known for.
4 AnswersOther - Music7 years agoIn "Hand on the pump", how can he be holding a shotgun, a 40, AND a blunt?
The lyrics of the Cypress Hill song "Hand on the Pump" goes...
Sawed off shotgun, hand on the pump
Left hand on a 40, puffin' on a blunt
So his hands are already full with the shotgun and the 40...so is he just holding the blunt with his mouth or something? Then how would he be able to drink his 40 with the blunt in the way?
4 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop7 years agoWhy won't Fafsa let me say that I'm dependent?
It keeps saying "Based on your answers to the dependency status questions, you are considered a dependent student". This is untrue. I recently got a job and moved into my own apartment. The only question I answered that I think could influence this is "As determined by a court in your state of legal residence, are you or were you an emancipated minor?". I answered no. I don't know what that means.
So is it just impossible for someone living on their own to get FAFSA? That's pretty retarded if that is the case.
7 AnswersFinancial Aid7 years agoWhich Cypress Hill member does the backing vocals in the choruses?
You know, the one that sounds like a retard when he says " Insane in The Brain!" Or "How I could just kill a man!". No disrespect to Cypress Hill, but that background guy legitimately sounds retarded and its hilarious.
1 AnswerRap and Hip-Hop7 years agoIs there a rapper that got shot more than 9 times?
50 Cent seems to hold the monopoly on this. I'm curious if there's a rappers that's been shot 10+ times. Survival is not a requirement, but a plus.
2 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop7 years agoHelp with Riemann Stieljes proof?
If f is constant, I need to show that f is integrable with respect to any function g, and the integral of fdg from a to b is f(g(b)-g(a)). The trouble I'm having with this is how I'm given absolutely no information on g. Any ideas?
