  • Which one is correct for a 1-sample case (variable is continuous)?

I’m having troubles understanding why (C) was “correct” over choosing (A). I looked it up & both are technically correct—what am I missing?

    A) As sample size increases, standard deviation decreases

    B) Standard error of the mean doesnt depend on sample size

    C) P-Value depends on sample size

    D) Neither of the above is true

  • Disney World & Universal Studios FAST-PASSES?

My fiance and I want to go to Orlando for our Honeymoon and take one day to visit Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom (I ve never been there) and the Universal Orlando Studios park (because he s never been there).

We re going to be staying in an outside hotel and purchasing day tickets for both parks.

We re wondering about FastPasses though. How do those work? I read somewhere that you have to be staying in the park s resort in order to get the passes; is this true? We re really just trying to make the best use of our time and avoid having to stand in the long lines, if at all possible.

  • Is it ok to quit a temporary summer job after two weeks?

I got a job for the summer at an soft-serve ice cream shop before I start grad school--they know it's only for the summer, and while I agreed to work some weekends, I asked (because I'm taking a difficult summer course that I'm required to take in order to "officially" start grad school) for mostly weekday evenings ask asked for a many hours as I could get--so about max 25 hours a week--because it doesn't pay much. But it's extra money.

Anyway, they have me working 10 hours solely on weekends even tho they hired two other people when they hired me so its not like they're short. It's been cutting into my weekend studying time a lot, along with another part time job I have that (without this ice cream job) pays more and gives a few more hours overall each week.

I was going to quit last weekend, but my boss asked me to work an extra day this weekend due to an issue with her being gone and my co-workers having an emergency out of town. I agreed to because I felt bad and knew it would help them out.

Would it be ok to quit after today? I'm not sure I'll get to see my boss this weekend, so I wanted to write her a letter just in case and leave it there for her explaining my situation. I've only been there two weeks and really it's not a job that I'll be putting on my resume; it's a source of extra income, not for skill-building, earning a living, or trying to get my foot in the door for a future career.

  • Is this fair of my BF s dad?

My BF graduated from college a few months ago; he just got a job and has been doing unpaid research work at the university he graduated from in the meantime because he needs research experience to be able to get into grad school in a year or so.

My BF has been living at home still, because his father lives just a few minutes from his school and it s just been easier.

They ve had one of his dad s friends living with them for several months (nearly a year) as well and paying rent.

Just recently, my BF s dad has asked his friend to move out (I m pretty sure it was supposed to be a temporary thing anyway), and has instead told my BF he has to start paying the same amount of rent.

My BF s plan was to get a job, SAVE up his money as quickly as possible, and move out because he doesn t want to live at home/with his dad anymore. I know it ll make life a lot easier for him as well; his dad seems to have issues being alone.

I m not sure why he wants to kick his friend out and force my BF to keep living with him AND pay rent, all when my BF is trying intentionally to save up and move out. The thing is, my BF s dad has been looking forward to my BF moving out--both of them are equally anxious haha.

This just doesn t seem fair. Most parents are generous and allow the kids to keep living at home for a couple more months after getting a job so they can save up enough to move out and get on their feet.

  • Hawaiian Honeymoon?

My finance & I want to figure out how financially possible it is for us to honeymoon in Hawaii. Our wedding is quite a ways off, and we re also considering asking for a part of our gift to be a "honeymoon fund". We ll probably try to stay for a week, depending on pricing. In my opinion, Hawaii is a once-in-a-lifetime vacation for most people, and so are honeymoons haha!

I know that time of year, time of week (mid-week), and what kind of airport you fly out of make a big difference in price, but what about accommodations?

We re considering both the hotel and the rental-house routes; we don t really want something "ordinary" like a Holiday Inn because it s not an ordinary vacation. But other more expensive hotels are...more expensive. I ve had friends who ve been to Hawaii and some of them have rented houses for the week. Are rental houses typically cheaper, or does it depend on the person you re renting from? What are the advantages or disadvantages of both routes, and which one is more likely to cost more?

We haven t decided which island to stay on, but I imagine each one has a different average price. What are the typical price ranges for them, and how do you decide? There seems like there s so much on each one, and we want to kind of explore it all if we can.

  • Poor quality: Samsung - 2.1-channel Soundbar System w/ Subwoofer?

I bought a "Samsung - 2.1-channel Soundbar System With Wireless Subwoofer" for my new smart TV (also Samsung).

I've noticed the sound lately has been....sub-par to say the least. I've tried altering the sound settings--changing the treble, bass, subwoofer, etc.. And I've tried changing the sound mode (music, TV, movie, etc.), and that hasn't worked either.

Is this just a garbage sound bar? Or am I missing something in how I've physically set it up or how I have the settings adjusted?

  • What are the pros/cons to selling your car on eBay?

I'be been trying to sell my car for a couple months now--I've dropped my original asking price even. I'be put ads online & in the paper. I'm getting frustrated & just want it sold, but I still need the buyer to meet my asking price.

Would trying to sell it on eBay be worth it?

  • What are some tips to ensure I sell my car as quickly as possible?

I m trying to sell my car PRIVATELY--not to a dealership that will get a great care for a complete steal.

What are some tips and tricks to sell it as quickly as possible? I ve posted it on the Facebook Marketplace, some local "sales" groups that I m a part of, and on Cars.com.

I also put up signs in my car s windows.

I listed the car s model and year, as well as the mileage and my asking price. I of course also gave contact info.

Should I take the price off just so people will be more likely to call?

  • Can you pay inside for gas *after* you pumped it?

I never know exactly how much I want/need to put in, so is there a way I can pump the gas and then go inside to pay for it with my credit card?

If not, do I just inside before and give them my card to hold or something?

  • Shutter doesn't open in Yashica Electro 35-GSN film camera?

I have a Yashica Electro 35-GSN film camera that's in great working order, except for a big problem with the shutter blades not opening at all when I try to take a photo.

The aperture works, the film advance and rewind controls work, and the rangefinder diamonds move/function as they're supposed to. The slow/fast lights also work.

I've heard that the Electros are prone to breaking down, despite being great little cameras, and that they're pretty complex to work on.

I've never worked on a film camera, but if it's something relatively simple to fix, I'd be open to gaining some experience with it.

Is it worth trying to repair, or should I just try to sell it to someone else who wants it to repair themselves/for parts?

  • Reading a Sekonic Studio Deluxe L-398 Light Meter?

I have a question that really shouldn't be an issue--but for whatever reason it is.

How do you read the results (f/stop and shutter speed settings) from a Sekonic Studio Deluxe L-398 Light Meter?

I understand how to set the ISO/ASA, take a measurement, match the low (or high) value arrow to the corresponding measurement.

From there, I'm a little confused. I know the shutter speeds and f/stop values are supposed to be paired, but can I choose any of the pairs that I want? Or is there a specific one I'm supposed to be looking at?

I've seen a few videos mention the red line (on the CINE scale at the bottom of the dial) for reading the setting values, but other videos don't.

  • Chicken broth most similar to the broth in Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup?

I really love the broth in the Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup, but have yet to find a simple broth that tastes just like it without simply taking the noodles and chicken out of the soup itself.

  • How do people make extended family aware of their wedding without sending invites? (Keeping weddings small)?

I know that wedding announcements should be sent out AFTER a wedding.

Save-The-Dates are usually sent out a while before the wedding, with a "Invitations to follow" note at the bottom where those who are invited can RSVP officially when the actual invitations are sent out.

Is it wrong to send Save the Dates (minus the "invitation" note at the bottom) to some people and then not send invites?

I guess I m just wondering how, if someone wanted to keep their wedding pretty small, they would still try to be polite enough to let those who they re not inviting (but still care about) know about the wedding.

  • Best digital camera for me?

I'm no professional photographer, but I'm really interested in it. I've had a little bit of time behind the camera--film cameras included--and I love learning about it.

I'd like a not-too-pricey DSLR Canon or Nikon that offers awesome quality, is helpful for beginners, and yet adapts as the photographer learns and grows. And that can shoot well in the dark and well with fast moving kids and pets.

I posted this same question earlier, and have gotten advice that having WiFi-enabled cameras is both limiting in camera capabilities and a bit more pricey.

So I've decided to forgo it.

I've been searching myself and I've seen several models that look decent, but they all seem to be pretty equal (like the Nikon D3400 vs D5500), and it confuses me because they seem like the same camera with just different names. How do I know which to pick?

  • Evidence to indict JonBenet Ramsey parents/brother?

Why is there "not enough" evidence for a grand jury to have indicted the parents and/or brother of JonBenet Ramsey?

Almost all of the evidence points toward them--from the "ransom letter" & all its clues to the fact that there weren't any footprints outside the snow-surrounded house & no sign of entry.

Plus the family didn't even bother to go searching through their house in the 8 hours between their initial call to the police (which was suspicious in itself) & when the body was actually found.

  • Dog & enclosed tennis courts?

I have a local elementary school nearby & it's enclosed with a fence.

People take their dogs walking around the school's track, but could I take my dog into the tennis court as long as there's no one else there using it? Of course I'd come prepared to clean up any messes.

My city doesn't have any dog parks & I'd love to be able to let my dog get some off-leash activity.
