  • When you plan and save for a gift but it doesn t have the effect you thought it would.?

My grandfather loves knives and is an avid collector of them. He is a huge fan of the Victorinox Swiss Army line. Earlier last year he almost passed away from a surgery to check a pacemaker he has. I wanted to make Christmas special for him somehow so I asked my grandmother what I should get him and she said "He s really into his knives." I immediately went online and searched for something special. I found a Victorinox SwissChamp XAVT on eBay and got into a bidding war for it. I won and was excited to see his reaction come Christmas morning. He opened it, looked at it with a plain look and just put it aside. Admittedly I was very hurt; I put so much time and money into this effort for him to just cast it aside like it was nothing. I later asked him how he liked the knife and he said, "Oh I used it to open a box." Please don t judge me negatively but I m so hurt by this. I was thinking about mentioning something to my grandma but I m not to sure whether I should or not. Please give me some advice and please be kind if you can people, I'd appreciate it greatly.

  • Accidently making contact during hockey with a female player?

I was playing ice hockey yesterday with a group of regulars during a pick up game and there was a female player there. In the middle of the game the puck went up against the boards so I rushed to grab it. When I got close to the boards I noticed another player in my peripheral vision trying to slip from behind me against the boards. My first instinct was to pin them hard and pass the puck to my teammates. When I pinned the player I did it harder than I had intended and they let out a high pitched sound of pain. It was then that I realized I had hit the only female player pretty hard and the noise she made gave me feelings of guilt immediately. My first instinct was to appologize and ask her if she was ok, but she just kept skating like nothing had happened. To be honest if I had known it was her slipping behind me I don't think I would've reacted the same way. So I guess my question is; should I have felt guilty for slamming her into the boards hard like I did?

  • Safe and correct fiber supplementation?

I take three scoops (one teaspoon) of sugar free Metamucil a day, two scoops of which I take at once in the morning. I was wondering if it’s bad to take two scoops at once of this fiber supplement. I've read over the label numerous times and it only says to take three doses three times daily, nowhere on the label does it mention if there should be a certain amount of time between doses. Thanks for the feedback people!

  • Is getting your penis examined during a physical normal!?

I went to a physical because I am joining a police academy and they require an examination to enter. During the physical the doctor said she needed to examine my penis as part of the procedure. I thought this was perfectly normal, although I did find it a little weird she wasn’t wearing gloves. Later when I described what happened during the physical to friends the guys told me they have never heard of, or experienced their penis' being examined. I really don’t know what to think at this point!!! Is this normal or did I just get molested by my doctor?! This is a serious question so I would like serious answers please.

  • Why are younger women rude while jogging?

There is a trail I run on and many others do as well. Whenever I pass someone I usually give them a friendly hello/good morning etc. I have noticed that every person gives a hello or at least a friendly nod back. The only people that ignore me completely are young women, usually in their mid to late 20's or below. Why is this so? I understand the world can be a dangerous place for young women, but does that mean they should be rude to people who are just being friendly and polite? Do they really think that saying hello or nodding back will make me want to rape or harm them? Not every young woman does this, just the vast majority. I do think its how I look, unless young women find a runner in his mid 20's intimidating. Perhaps you kind people reading this can shed some light on this curiosity.

  • Should I take a break from being active or just wear a knee brace?

I run 24-30 miles a week, play hockey twice a week and lift weights 3 times a week. I'm starting to notice that my right knee is starting to feel like it’s loose at times, like it might pop out of its socket one day. My knee will even make a popping sensation when I’m doing leg curls or I skate hard. What should I do? I don't want to give anything up permanently, I love doing the things I do too much.

  • What is the definition of athletic? Are you? Am I?

What is the definition? Is it a look, set of skills, activity level, etc. I don't want dictionary definitions, I'm looking for personal opinion. Are you athletic by your own definition? If so what do you do to be that way?

    What I do weekly;

Ice Hockey for 1.5 hours twice a week

    Run 20-30 Miles a week

Weight lift 1-2 hours 3 times a week

Yes I am athletic by my definition!

    -3 Triple Omega 3, 6, 9

    -2 Triple Flex

    -1 Magnesium

    -1 Chromium

    -1 Multivitamin

I take them at different stages throughout the day with food and I never exceed more than 3 at a time.

I've been trying to come up with a training regimen for hockey and I need some guidance. Right now I do a lot of running and lifting; 3-6 miles a day 7 days a week, weight lifting 3 days a week, and I play/practice 2 days a week.
