A few years ago, I broke up with my abusive ex. He was a crack addict, screamed and yelled at me, threatened to hurt me, and stole checks from me and used them for crack. The very night we broke up, my sister was kissing him on the couch at a friends house. She did ask if I was done with him. I said yes, of course! She knew all about the abuse and the crack and the stolen checks. She often came to my house to visit with us. Now she is living with him, knowing all she knows...and I hardly ever see her. Apparently she was only coming to see him. I trusted her enough not to worry one night when I was out of town and she spent the night at my house with him because they were drinking. Now I don't know what to think. I have met someone else, am happily remarried, but every time I see my sister, I cringe because I know it must be happening to her. She denies it, just like I did. I think I just want to write her out of my life at this point. I'm tired of pretending everything is fine when I can never trust her again. Why would my sister want to be with my abusive ex...he can be very charming and manipulative, but considering what he did to me, why would she? What should I do?
