I'm a 56 year old, semi-retired, semi-disabled farmer-rancher living in SW North Dakota with a degree in organic chemistry and biology. I enjoy hunting, trapping and competitive shooting, handy when gardening in the wilds of the Dakotas. I've also gardened in z3, z6, z8, southern England and earned a few certificates of horticultural ilk but most of my experience comes from killing. When you've killed as much plant material as I have in the last fifty years, you learn what does and doesn't work. There's more to gardening than points but I have no problem receiving thumbs down for any of my 'answers' that don't meet with your approval, I will try to do better. Gardening is part art and part science with a little humor and love thrown in to protect our sanity. All I ask of you is to allow my friends and I to express our thoughts and ideas (the art) as well as the facts (the science) and a little chat (the love and humor) without involving the Yahoo police and others.
