Emms
I'm Emms. I am 22 years old (with 5 years experience), and I have a variety of interests. I spend most of my Yahoo Answers time on the Fish (and other pets) forums, as well as the Rental and Real Estate forums. I have a menajerie of pets in my home (3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 fish tanks and 2 parakeets), and have been a pet owner since I was a little girl. I've been a horse lover all my life - started riding at 8 years old and bought my first horse when I turned 18. Animals have always been a big part of my life. As for the rental and real estate, we bought our multi-family house 4 years ago, and it was a HUGE struggle for the first couple of years - so I hope that some of my answers will help those in the middle of that struggle to get through it and know that eventually it does get better. :) I guess that is about it for me. :)
Reformatting a Dell computer w/ Windows XP - Problems?
I have a Dell that is about 4 years old. It has a fairly small hard drive (compared to newer PC's anyhow). I believe it's 40G. Anyhow, I decided to upgrade to a new PC with a much bigger hard drive (and more room for all the music, pictures, etc that I like to keep handy). We decided to make the older PC simply a game PC. The video card, etc are sufficient for the majority of PC games that we own, and once we got rid of all the "junk" on that PC, there would be plenty of room to load the games.
Right.
Anyhow, we moved all the information from the old PC to the new PC, and then I went through and removed the programs that I was sure I didn't need (graphics programs, AOL, etc). After removing the unnecessary programs, the computer was still a little slow when playing games, so we figured we'd just reformat the PC, and start from scratch.
Put the CD in, followed the instructions, deleted the partition (maybe that's the issue??), and loaded up Windows XP.
Now the PC has horrible pixelation (there is no choice to fix it - it's permanently stuck at like 480 x 640). It's awful. It also will not allow us to do much of anything else. We can't load anything onto it because it says that the video card is not sufficient (it was before we did this).
SO... I am out of ideas. We actually re-formatted twice. The results of second time weren't any better than the 1st. I am definitely not tech geek. So please, when answering use words that us non-computer building type people will understand. :)
Gracias for any help you can provide!! And if I can provide more info, I'd be more than happy to. Just let me know what you need.

1 AnswerDesktops1 decade agoHow to remove a refrigerator from a 2nd floor apartment??
So we own a 3 family house, and the 2nd floor fridge died. Bought a new one at Home Depot. Delivery guys showed up today and there is no possible way for the old fridge to fit down the hallway stairs. Doors off the front - it's still about 5" too wide.
I have no idea how the previous owner got it there in the first place, and I am at a complete loss as to how to get it out. The new fridge fit just fine up the stairs. It's in place and working beautifully, but now they have two refrigerators, which is obviously not going to work long term.
Anyone have brilliant ideas on how to get the old fridge out of the apartment?? I'd prefer not to try to cut it in pieces as I am not interested in spilling chemicals in my building. Help??
