The Republic of the Maldives?
Until 1200, the Maldive Islands were a peaceful Bud hist island kingdom, then they allowed Muslim traders to settle, and now, in 2010, it is against the law to worship any other religion besides Islam. How did this happen? Could this happen to European nations? To the United States. Only throwing this question out to see how it is answered. Not looking for hateful commentary, just curious how a peaceful island people changed their religion, when much of their early civilization was a peaceful one under Buddhism, Were they forced to changed religions?
5 AnswersMaldives1 decade agoWashington National fans, who would you trade?
If you ran the Nationals, who would you keep, trade or just outright release. I ask, because as a disappointed Nationals fan with this lack of action by the Nationals(Werth was alright, Matt Stairs and Rick Ankiel-is terrible) Then the lousy trade with Oakland, that sent Willingham away, and not resigning Adam Dunn(strikeouts aside, he gave fans some fun with the home runs). So, I am looking forward to some realistic answers. Thanks for the feedback.
2 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoIf Major League Baseball were to expand, what cities should get a team and which ones for which league?
What about these cities getting a team? League?
St. Louis-add an American League team to this city, it had one in each league until 1953
Boston adds a National League team to this city, it also had a team in NL until 1951
Philadelphia adds an American League team, it had one until 1954
The above are because these cities were two league towns at one time-now for the other cities
Nashville, TE
Louisville, KY
Indianapolis, In
Buffalo, NY
Jacksonville, Fla
Charlotte, NC
New Orleans, La.
San Antonio, Tex
Las Vegas, Nevada
Salt Lake City, Utah
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Montreal, Canada? restore a franchise to this city
Vancouver, Canada-place a National League team in it since American League is in Seattle.
9 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoAttention Nationals Fans, do you really believe this team intends to win?
Letting Adam Dunn go was a ridiculous move, and while I have heard some claim that they now will have a chance to play a younger first baseman, the point is, Dunn was a fan favorite, who played well. The Nationals are just an investment for the Lerner family, it is no wonder the architect of the Braves success from the past decade or two Stan Kasten left this organization of purposeful mediocrity. If you disagree, then answer me why you think Dunn leaving was worth allowing by Washington's front office.

10 AnswersMovies1 decade agoAttention National's fans-who do you think the Washington Nationals should try to get to improve their club?
I am a National's fan and am interested in seeing what others think about the team, and who they should trade for, and trade to get talent they need.
8 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHas anyone on these boards seen Stephen Strasburg pitch either in college or minor leagues?
I am a Nationals fan and we keep hearing the hype about him, just curious about what those who have seen him pitch live think about his skills.
