  • What else can I feed my picky leopard gecko?

I have a female fat tailed leopard gecko, that I was told was 4 years old but I believe she is around 2 years old or younger.. But she's not really skinny but shes not really at the ideal weight.. She only eats LIVE crickets. I have tried the can o' crickets and the meal worms and silkworms but shes just won't eat them!! She could eat 10 crickets at once though! Any ideas on how to get her to eat other foods or others foods I could try? Thanks:)

  • Can plecostomus have cloudy eye?

I was looking at my fish tank and my pleco swam up to me and I thought for a moment that her eye was gone!! But then I realized there is like a white film covering it. I almost can't see the eye at all! I have had her for about 4-5 months and when I first got her she had both eyes and no film on them. She is in a 20 gallon with a red tailed shark (just until she's big enough to go into the 40 gallon, she minds her own business and doesn't bother other fish), 3 tiger barbs, 2 swordtails, 1 molly, and 3 pearl danios. Nobody bothers her so I don't think she got hurt. So could it be cloudy eye?

  • Will the rest die??What should I do?

I have a about 40 gallon tank with 2 cichlids. There is a 50 gallon filter, one of those top fin bubble walls, and a heater. For a LONG time the tank had a green cloudy tint to it, but I had 6 cichlids at the time and a smaller filter. First one fish died but with no signs of illness.. Then the second still no signs.. Then we moved, brought the tank and set it up and a little better but still a greenish tint to it! I got a new filter, new bubbler, and had 4 fish left but I added 1 more thinking the tank would get better. The 2nd smallest started to hide behind the filter and heater... Then I realised the others were bullying her and she was getting tore up! So I took her out but she was just in BAD condition so she passed.. The biggest one was a red jewel and she started to lose color and her eye was cloudy so I bought the all in one cloudy eye, infections care but it didn't help and she passed.. We were all good for 2 weeks then one passed no signs of illness!! But the tank is now clear with 2 cichlids. But the one is doing the same as others ,hiding behind the heater and filter.. And the other hiding and may possibly showing signs of swim bladder. So these are my questions

    1. Why did they all die?

    2. What should I do with the remaining

3.Can I save them or should I just let them go?

4.. I was thinking if these pass (I was thinking of changing the fish anyway) I really love goldfish and have done lots of research and I would love to have some in my tank, thoughts?

  • Dog vomiting and not eating??!!HELP?!?

I have a 2 year old chihuahua that has been perfectly healthy since she was a puppy! Except for her eating grass then puking it up (GROSS). Just 3 days ago she puked up the little food she ate and it looked like it had blood. I watched her ALL day and nothing. So I just thought upset stomach.. But hasn't ate but maybe 1/2 a cup of food in the last 3 days!! She acts tired but shes drinking water fine. Maybe I'm just stressing to much... Should take her to the vet? Please respond soon!!!

  • Should Leopard geckos have nutri-cal?

My leopard gecko was a lil underweight and not eating much. So I took her to the vet and they gave me nutri-cal for her. On the tube it states for cats and dogs. Its thick and sticky and when I give it to her she looks like she has a hard time swallowing it. I'm afraid she's gonna choke on it! She LOVES it and eats it like candy (or crickets in the case)... Has anyone else been given nutri-cal for their leo or any reptile? Or is it safe for her to eat?

  • How to set up a critter keeper as a temp. home for leo. gecko?

I have to bring my leopard gecko downstairs due to HIGH humidity upstairs. She'll be downstairs for maybe 1 day being the least and 3 days being the most. The critter keeper is 14.5" L X 8.75" W X 9.75" so its the large one. I don't have any extra sand at the moment....

    Main questions:

What should I put at a substrate?

How to set it up in general?

    Thanks in advance!!

Oh and this is my previous question that explains why she has to move downstairs:

  • How to decrease humidity FAST??!?!?!?

I have a leopard gecko in a 25 gallon tank. Our air conditioner went out yesterday and maybe be back tomorrow best case scenario but worst scenario is not til Monday. The temp is 87.6 on cold side and 92.3 on hot side and humidity 55% at night and 60% at day. Her normal humidity is around 40%. I have an extra little critter keeper if she has to move downstairs (the downstairs is much cooler). I don't have another actual tank and I don't have the money right now to buy a dehumidifier (plus on a normal day the humidity is fine)!

    So my main questions are:

How to decrease the humidity WITHOUT buying anything extra?

    Is the temp too high?

Should I just move her downstairs?

  • Can I get another leopard gecko?

I have a four year old female fattailed leopard gecko in a 25 gallon tank. I want to get another leopard gecko female or male. But I'm afraid that she will attack the new one since she's been alone for so long? Or will she attack another female or male?

    So here are some questions:

    Will she attack another gecko?

*If the first question is a yes then you don't have to answer the next questions*

Should I get a male or female?

Should I get the 2 nd one as a juvenile or adult?

    How would I introduce them?

  • Good names for Leopard Gecko?

I am adopting a fattailed leopard gecko today and I'm not 100% percent sure that it is a female or male. The women I'm adopting it from believes its a female but she's not sure either. Anyway I liked to go with names that start with L or god and goddess names. But I'm open to all suggestions! You can put male and female names too.

    Thanks!

  • Can you add large aquarium rocks to reptile sand?

I am adopting a fattailed leopard gecko tomorrow and it is in a 30 g with calcium sand, decor, and everything else. I have an extra bag of large bags from an aquarium (The rock has not been used before!) and I was wondering if you could add some of the rock to the terrarium? If not its fine lol. Just had some extra rock and was wondering! Thanks

I acquired them from a friend who kept multiple species of cichlids that's why I am asking:)

  • What kind of plant is this?!?

I just went on a live plant shopping spree and got a larger plant (sorry I forgot the name!) money wort and micro swords. And as I was adding the plants I found a small plant attached to the large plant. I added it to my empty 2.5 gallon until I figure out what it is.

  • Can someone tell me about shows for bettas?

I have a male Double Tail Betta. He is Red, White, and Gray/Blue and 3 inches. I got him about 2-3 months ago and someone told "He'd be a good show betta"? I started looking into it and saw that there is a show on the 27th, 2 hours away from me.But I have no clue really what the shows are and what you do. Or even if there are requirements! The show was SCUBA by IBC.

Here are some pics of him:

    http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=29ntu09&s=6

Sorry that the are blurry! He's REALLY fast!

    So my main questions are:

    Is he "show Quality"?

What are the steps to registering (Like a website link)?

Do you know shows in Texas within the next year or so?

What are rules and regulations to enter possibly a website link)?

What were your experiences at shows if you have ever been in or to one?

    Thanks:)

  • Cycling a 2.5 gallon betta tank?

I have a small 2.5 gallon betta tank that has a filter and heater that I just bought. The betta is currently in a 2 gallon betta tank that is cracked the very top, so I can keep him in there until the 2.5 is done. I want to cycle the tank, I understand how long it takes. Does anybody have any good advice/ steps to cycling the tank? Or website references?

    Thanks you in advance!:)

  • Are Plecos supposed to hide all the time?

I have a 3- 3 1/2 inch Pleco that is in. a 10 g with 2 male adult guppies and 3 baby guppies in a breeder box. It is heavily planted tank with a log decor that she ALWAYS hides in except for when I move around the tank! I got her to reduce algae growth.. But she hides (She is alive, I have to move the decor some time to be sure! xD)! I add algae tab things to make sure she is enough food and they are always gone but I rarely actually see her come out to get it?!?! The levels are all good (I have full test kit) and I do 10% water changes every week! I ahve had her for 1 1/2 month. Is this behavior normal?
