  • Most convenient way to sell posters online?

I want to sell posters of my Photography online.

I am based in the UK and will mainly be selling to US residents so is there a particular website that would work best for me?

Do sites like Big Cartel, Zazzle & Etsy let you just upload the image and handle the rest of it? Are there any sites that can do that?

If I cannot set up an online store are there any US based websites that will let me set the address of individual purchases?

Just to clarify I will be using images taken myself that I hold all the rights to.

  • How do I restore my system from backup?

So basically I recently upgraded from my macbook to a macbook pro and I am giving my macbook to my mom.

I wanted to completely clear it for her so I did a re-install with the set up disk but it took it right back to Mac OS X 10.4.6 and it wouldn't even recognise the airport among other problems so I want to restore the old system and I'll just manually delete the stuff.

I have back ups saved on my external hard drive from time machine but I have no idea how to actually restore it.

I can't even find time machine on the 10.4.6 version!

  • Filming a soccer/football match what equipment?

I've been asked to film a football match for my local team, so they can watch it back and learn.

I don't have any professional video equipment, nor am I going to buy any for this but I do want to get the best results I can with what I have.

I have a DSLR with HD video but what lens would be best? I also will possibly have a go-pro that I thought could be good to strap to the crossbar so they can see how they attack/defend corners.

    Any tips, advice?

    Thanks!

  • Video Editing Software For Mac?

Ok so I need to just clip an .avi file the video is 2 hours 35mins long and I just want to break it up into smaller vids.

The file won't import in imovie (It says it's loading in but then nothing) I googled it and it seems like a common problem.

So I need a video editing programe that can use .avi files and I don't need anything as complicated as Final cut.

    Any suggestions?

  • What's my photographic style?

I'm doing a project on how others perceive and how different opinions can be.

Could you take a look at my flickr photostream and basically sum up how you view me photographically? Like what's my style, my strengths, weaknesses, etc.

    Thanks

  • What lenses should I buy?

I'm setting up my own photography company and have some funding that was going to be spent on lighting equipment but now it looks like I might have access to a studio completely pimped out so I was thinking using the money for lenses instead.

What are the best lenses (Going to be focusing on portraits) I have a Canon 450D with a few lenses but I'm gonna be using my Nikon D90 more, I only have a 50mm f/1.8 for that, so I really need more lenses!

What would you guys suggest? 35mm? 85mm? I also want something with some range too.

  • Do I have a case against my employer?

Bluntly put, my boss is an *** and he really takes the piss but is there any case to sue him/the company?

There are 2 separate incidents in question and that's just today!

It was my day off today but I gave a colleague a lift and popped in for a drink (I work in a pub/restaurant) as I walked in my boss questioned me about putting 4 drinks on the till last night on my shift then taking them off for any reason. I told him I had no idea what he was talking about and that from time to time its easy to accidentally press the button twice and you need to delete it. He said that wasn't the case here and pulled up the detailed info on the till, after looking at it I just shook my head and shrugged my shoulders and he said "It looks to me as if you've taken the money for the drinks and not put it in the till" I looked again and noticed it wasn't even under my key and that it was another employee's name who took over from my shift. He said I must have been using her key and I told him there's no way I used anyone else's key and that I always use my own. He said it was at the time I was working and the only person on the till, then I asked him if he had changed the time for daylight savings on the till and he replied "no, no I haven't must have been her then" He didn't even apoligize and that pissed me off.

Also In my contract there is no "minimum hours" it just states 40 hours average yet this week I'm down for just 27. Where do I stand on this? How many hours does he have to pay me for since there's no minimum stated.

  • What kind of results can I expect from constant lighting?

You know the cheap portable "Backdrop + Lights" constant lighting kits you can get off ebay, around £100-£200? What sort of results can I expect from that?

    This is a shot I took using 4x bowens flash/softboxes unedited http://www.flickr.com/photos/hevding/5566134854/

Is there any chance of getting the clean white background with the kit off ebay?

  • American Idol 11 Predictions?

I think this year is the most talented, guys side deffo, I'm predicting the usual most of the girls get voted off first eventually leaving just Lauren in the top 5 with 4 guys!

You really can't pick a winner at this stage but there are a few guys who are really talented but their attitude stinks a la Jordan and Clint. Brett has a great voice but he's extremely annoying!

I think Casey is a potential winner but Robbie, Paul & Tim look strong.

Girls side, only ones I think stand a chance are Lauren, Naima & possibly Pia but she has to work out how to not alienate the female vote.

Personally I'm rooting for Lauren & Scott, I'd love to see a country winner again and Nashville would suit their personalities better than Hollywood!

    What do you guys think?

  • How hard is it to learn how to Snowboard?

It's something I've always wanted to do and I was thinking of doing a 1 day course but its a lot of money if there's a good chance I won't be able to do it at all.

I realize it's an expensive hobby but I live 10mins from an indoor real snow slope which is handy.

I can wakeboard and skateboard a bit (Not any tricks or anything just the manoeuvring) either of them comparable to snowboarding?

  • How do you got about organising a football tournament trip?

I'm planning on going to the Womens World Cup in Germany (From the UK) in the summer but I've never been to a tournement abroad and have no idea how to go about it. The tournement is 3 weeks long but I'd only be able to go for 1/2 weeks max, you can buy venue passes or individual game tickets but with the stadiums being spread out all over Germany, I have no idea how to do it!

Should I book a venue ticket and flight/hotel in that city or is there a better way of doing it to see more games?

  • What Camera should I go for next?

    I have a Canon 450D (Rebel Xsi) and a Nikon D90.

The camera's I'm looking at are the Canon 5D Mk II and Canon 7D or the Nikon D700.

Also I like the look of the 550D.

I'm planning to sell the D90 to put some money towards the other camera but can't decide which option to go for. I'm looking to set up my own photography business and the camera would mainly be used for portraits.

What do you guys think is the best option?

The red doesn't show up very well, I know headlights are brighter than tail lights but is there a certain shutter speed they'd show up more on? how can I get the tail lights to show up more?

  • How much could I expect to pay for Surf lessons in the Carribean?

Just an approximate rate for a complete beginner, not a full day thing, just a couple of hours?
