Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24 "I think anyone smiling and happy is beautiful." • What movis is this(about a ghetto high school)?

I remember this movie about this white pricipal is sent into a ghetto schhol to get it straighted out. He has some new white staff members too. Anyways, it is about gang violence and people are killed and raped. I remember one female teacher was raped by a male student after hours. It's from the 80s. It is not Lean On Me.

When you breath, you feel your stomach move, but yet I have this sore throat so WHAT DO I DO? I need a DETAILED answer on how to breath correctly lol.

  • I really want to be home schooled, but....?

    I have some questions...

Everyday when I go to school I'm just stressed. I'm not the type to let a bad day get me down though so I always try to keep on the sunny side and be positive. Under the smiles and efforts, I see the same trends that just make me mad.

    1. If I miss a piece of information, teachers just move on and build off of that basic information leaving me stuck. I'd go for extra help, but the teacher for that class is scattered and just not very good at explaining things out.

    2. Children can be so immature and rude. The time they waste on page #69 and all that is just annoying. I don't even understand it. It's distracting and.. blah.

    3. My faith is not really acknowledged in school and I try to base everything off of my Bible. I study each day and just take time to think about my faith and such.

    4. I don't really get along with the girls. Don't get me wrong, I talk with most people and laugh and joke with them. They like me and all, but we just don't connect. I have friends, but we don't really hang out or "get" each other. They just aren't the type to ask you about your day and to share things with. So it isn't like I'd be missing out on the social thing.

    5. I get so much more work done when I teach myself and think about it myself. I'm a thinker and that's how I learn--if I process the information myself.

    6. Ever since I was a little girl I just was different. I learned differently and just didn't fit in. I'm a dreamer and have always had my eyes set on the goal rather than the music that's "in" and "popular" "normal" stuff. I have my own tastes and have a basic idea on what I've been called to do. "Normal stuff" has never interested me, really. I've always had a basic an idea of what I like and don't like.

    7. Gym is awful

    8. I can't stand learning things I know I'll never use again like protons and neutrons and alkali metals *sighs*. I do love Language Arts and Bible and Social Studies and I don't love basic math, but I know I'll need it later on so I put up with it.

And... and... yeah. I could go on and on. I just feel it would be good for me. I have some questions though because my mama can't home school me. (She works and oh my goodness, we aren't a good teacher/student combo lol!) How would that work? Is it possible for other adults to teach you? I know home school is for me, I just don't know the fine details. Help! What are the first steps? I'll be going into high school this year and all of that COMPLETELY turned me off! The last thing I need is to be miserable through my last four years of mandatory education (I plan on going to college). I don't want to waste any time. So, where do I start? Any advice. I have no idea. I see the Duggars and the Bates and the Peasalls and some other people I look up to who are home schooled. I feel it would be right, but I'm growing impatient. So, what do I do? Where do I start? Is it legal to educate myself lol? Are there online classes I can take? I'm kind of on shaky ground with this, but i feel just to know what options I have would be a good thing to look into. Thanks y'all!

  • My computer won't recognize a DVD?

I watch movies on my laptop all the time. Including this movie. I watched the same movie yesterday and my laptop made loud buzzing noises. Today it won't recognize the DVD. This has never happened before. Most of the DVDs I play I own so it's not some weird cheapo DVD.

By the way, this are not dirty films or anything. I'm trying to watch The Secret Life of Bees.

  • Why do you home school/believe in home schooling?

    I have a few questions:

    Why do you home school?

When did you decide to home school?

Do you/your children prefer home schooling?

Is it hard to home school?

Is it difficult to balance a teacher/parent relationship?

How do your children socialize with other children other than family?

I've just started thinking about home school. I've always wanted to be a teacher and have a big Christian family. Now I'm considering combining the two dreams.

Is there any information y'all would like me to know that is important about homeschooling?

My main concerns are probably typical of a parent considering homeschooling. The reason I'm really looking into this is because I would want my children to be brought up doing what they love, being youthful, learning how to keep house, have manners, hospitality, and faith.

When I see children in a public school environment, usually they are forced to do a lot of work and not enough time to learn it. I understand that the curriculum forces this, but that does not mean I like it! They are crammed to do a lot of subjects that are difficult in such a way that is anything but flexible. In home schooling you could cater to a child's learning needs that isn't easy in public school.

However, I fear that the children will not be able to be surrounded by other children like they are in public school. They would miss out on the fun of Friday night football games and other school activities.

As y'all can see, I'm TORN right now! This is your chance to reel me in towards home schooling. Convince me!!!

    Thanks y'all! :)

  • Is it legal to start a home school?

Not just for your children, though. For other families who are interested, but are too busy to home school. I just thought of it and it seems like a good idea, but I'm sure you would have to get certification and such. Has anyone else considered this and is it legal?

  • Dream about ultrasound?

I had a dream about having an ultrasound. My mama was there. I was a virgin, though. I was real nervous because I felt I was way too young to be pregnant. It turned out there was nothin' there and I wasn't pregnant. I felt relieved. What does this mean? I'm not pregnant or anything. I'm a virgin.

  • What does this dream mean?

I had a dream that I was at an ultrasound with my mama. They checked my stomach and I wasn't pregnant. During the whole thing I was confused because I was a virgin. I left relieved because I'm so young. It wouldn't happen in real life right now cause I believe in abstinence. Anyways, your interpretations?

  • What does this dream mean?

I was in the car with my mama driving through farmland in our current town. When I was eleven I wrote a song about my dream of moving to South Carolina. I was humming it as we drove because it is still my dream to leave this town and move there. Well, my mama started to sing along with the words! She knew the song by heart!

    What does this mean?

  • What movie am I thinking of?

It's about a girl who wants to be a pageant queen when she's young and her momma is mean and demeaning. I specifically remember her having encouraging quotes around her bedroom mirror. She eventually does almost win a major pageant. She looks like Julia Roberts. I forget what it is, though. Maybe American Dream or something like that.

  • What marriage is truly about?

I found this poem-type thing recently. I forget what it was, but it was BEAUTIFUL! Oh my goodness, it was about what a Christian marriage should be. How it isn't about the arguments, but the faith that will hold y'all together. Somethin like that. I don't know! :( UGH! I googled it and couldn't find it. It might have been on a forum or in a song. I DON'T KNOW! :(

  • What do you do when your family challenges your beliefs?

So I'm very mature and independent for my age. I had to be responsible because my momma has always been very sick. Now she is getting so much better, bust she hasn't talked to our family since before she really started to get sick. Because of this, they are always judging her on what we used to be. Remember I haven't talked to them in years.

I was so young when I last saw them with my momma. Probably about seven or eight. They judge me by what I was. So do my cousins. Now I'm a young woman and I've developed my own beliefs and values. I've chosen to stay pure until marriage for God. My faith has strengthened greatly. I've joined a different church. I want to have a big family. I want to teach young children in Appalachia. I get better grades. I've lost weight and I definitely don't look like I did when I was seven-years-old! I just have so many dreams I feel like I've got to chase and they don't take me seriously because I'm different.

It can be very hurtful because I feel like I'm really headed in the right direction for me. This is what works for me. This is who I've become. I've blossomed from a child into a young woman. My family is stuck in the past. They even gossip about me. I try to be kind and help them. I send them cards and baked goods. I compliment them all the time and just try to loving and caring. That's the type of person I am. I just want to make peace and be happy, but sometimes I feel bitter towards them because they almost find me comical and attack me emotionally.

I'm not kidding around. This is me! I feel like they should take me a little more seriously. My momma and I are really getting a little bit stronger everyday. We are taking strides towards good things. I can't help what they think. Neither can y'all. I'm so proud of my momma and I do believe that they are in no place to judge. They haven't been around in so long. I guess, what would y'all do if you were in my position. I am very sensitive and this bothers me so much. I cry over it. :-(
