  • Cat eating Avocado plant leaves?

I grew an avocado from the pit and now have it as a houseplant. It is still pretty small and only has about 4 leaves at this point. I have come home to find one of my cats has chewed on all the leaves, leaving "chew marks" and chunks out of the leaves.

First question: where only a small amount has been ingested is it recommended to have them checked by the vet ?(there is no noticeable change in behavior) and Second: will the leaves come back with these chew marks, should I trim them or just leave them alone?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • Mother-in-Law Tongue/Snake Plant help?

My mother has had her snake plant for approximately 25 years without problems. Recently, she re-potted it and gave me a section. First problem presented as a result of a 4 hour ride home with the plant in my back seat....I think she got a little sunburned as the leaves were dropping over. So I trimmed them back and it seemed to be doing better. Now, the areas that were trimmed seem to have new growth around the edges of the leaves (at the top) which are green but frail and wrinkled. I have made sure not to be over watering or under watering but do not know what else I can do to save this poor plant. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  • Help with song options for wedding dance?

I am getting married in two months and having trouble with choosing music for the "father/daughter" dance. It is difficult because the man giving me away is my uncle, not my father...so its hard to find the right song. I am hoping for some suggestions (nothing cliche please). Another option is my fiance and his mother might dance at the same time as us, so maybe choosing one song would easier? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Should I wear a bridal veil?

My wedding is very simple, casual, and for the most part; non-traditional. The family friend making my dress mentioned that she picked up material to make a veil and I realized, I haven't though about that aspect of my attire. I am thinking because everything so casual, maybe I shouldn't and stick with the theme...I definitely would not want to wear it over my face, so why wear something that I would not want to wear properly, right?! Any suggestions...I need pro and con input. Thanks!

  • Multi-colored bridal party?

I am having a casual wedding and a small wedding party (Best Man, Maid of Honor, one bridesmaid and one groomsman) and I am having trouble deciding on color schemes.

My idea....my dress is white with bursts of vibrant colors in appliqued flowers and butterflies. I am thinking that each person should wear a color represented in my dress but I am worried it might be too much color. My other thought was to pick the two colors I like the best and go with that. I am looking for some other opinions. The problem I have with picking only two colors is what color do I put the groom and my uncle in (who is giving me away)?? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ;)

  • Possible anorexia concern for a friend.?

A friend of mine has lost approximately 50 lbs in a matter of 6 month period and I am starting to get concerned. She looks ill, some bones are visible (neck and back/collar), eyes are sunken, and she is paler. She states that she is "sick" and that doctors cannot figure out why she is loosing the weight, that when she does eat she becomes ill and simply cannot force herself. All I know she gets for nourishment is vitamin water. She tells me she wants to gain weight back but that she cannot. On the other hand she is very proud of the weight she has lost and often flaunts it...which I don't believe is typical of individuals with eating disorders but I am not 100%. I just know that there is a problem and she needs help. I don't want to say the wrong thing and push her away..any suggestions on how to gently tell her I am concerned? Openers for bringing the concern to the table??
