  • AVG 8.0 update problems?

I downloaded the professional version of AVG antivirus, now that the free edition I had will no longer have updates, and I cannot update it. It was not exactly cheap, either. I joined their little e-mail list for help issues, and there had not been any posts so far, so I figured out how to contact the moderator, and suddenly the first post showed up, telling where to log on to download the updates manually. It turns out that the page does not exist. I would assume that it is down for repairs or something. In any event, I have tried over an over again to get the thing to download the updates, and it starts to do so, and then suddenly loses its connection to the server, always in the same spot (it downloads a few elements and then disconnects). I am beginning to think that there is a massive fraud taking place here. These people operate out of Eastern Europe, and they have no accountability, or very little, apparently.

  • Would Americans care if they found out that the Dalai Lama is currupt? Or would that matter?

The corporate owned media is painting the cause of "free Tibet" as if it were the most pressing human rights issue on the planet, at the expense of the groups who are really suffering oppression, who get no press at all, practically, other than the negative kind. What do people actually know about "his holiness" other than what they are fed by the corporate owned media? Would they be bothered by the fact that he actually represents a small group of Tibetan oligarchs who owned slaves and serfs, where there were no rights for women, and where religion was a means of oppression, keeping a brutal theocracy in power? Or are they content to get their information from Hollywood, and from the myriad CIA front organizations (the CIA provides the budget for all "free Tibet" organizations)? Do Americans want us to invade Tibet, like we did Afghanistan and Iraq, and introduce Tibetans to the kind of life that people in those places are facing now? Could this really be about mining uranium there?
