I have been wanting to learn a programming language for some time now. I have no past experience of computer programming, so decided I should start on Java. Is that a good place to start? I would like to learn other languages too just to increase my knowledge. I have started learning Java online through this website:

Could someone please take a look at the contents to see whether I am heading in the right direction?

I've heard c/c++ is also a good place to start?

I know the answer is simply Accountancy, but isn't there any other way...

I would love to do maths with computer science, and then possibly go into accounting. Is that possible? And if it is, what would I need to do after a degree in maths and computer science?

My laptop wont start up

i was on the internet and then suddenly a security clean up system came up, telling me to clean my laptop's registry. the whole process started by itself. i tried closing it down but it would work. i tried to get back up on the internet, but that kept closing. i tried using my own security programme but it showed nothing. then all of the running programmes on my laptop were shutting down, and i was unable to do anything. eventually, when i couldn't do anything, i turned the laptop off and turned it on again - but nothing happened after the vaio turning on screen the laptop goes blank and isn't starting up... what should i do?

oh and i think it may help for you to know that my laptop is partitioned so one side of it is windows xp and the other has vista. i can still access vista without problems. its the xp that isn't working...
