2 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy are so many Americans writing their money as such? 50$ Are they just plain stupid?
When I went to second grade, we were taught the proper way to write our dollar signs before the digits ($49.55) and to use the cents sign after the digits if it was 99¢ or less.
Later that quarter we were allowed to use $0.99 too.
Are the teachers THAT bad these days that SIMPLE BASICS are not taught?
Are the students that dumb or drugged up on Ritalin they can't learn?
I'm so curious why I see it so prevalent on the Internet. Do they not EVER see a price tag in a store? On their paycheck, or most likely welfare check? Have they ever seen a newspaper?
3 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoWhy is this mistake so prevalent? EX: 50$ instead of the correct way, $50 ?
Is it because the school systems are getting so lousy?
Is it the Outcome based education?
Is it because people are just getting dumber?
My Goodness, we were properly transcribing money in the second grade!
We knew how to write $50 and how to write 50¢ at the tender age of 7 !
Do any of these people EVER look at the newspaper?
A book?
The price on their favorite news magazine, the Enquirer?
Or any other price when they go to a store?
Are their skulls so dense it never sinks in?
