I'm looking for some good indie rock bands with sad lyrics.

Some examples are:

Death Cab for Cutie

Brand New

Manchester Orchestra

Bright Eyes

They don't have to be very well known, and in fact, it might be better if their not because then I'll probably not have heard of them yet.

There one of my favorite bands. Also some newer bands that sound like them would be good.

Right now my two favorite rapper are Brother Ali and Macklemore. I'm looking for more rappers and songs that tell stories and really mean something. I like rap that's not too hard to understand and also sounds good, but with good lyrics.

I'm looking for some indie bands that are not very well known because I know all of the big ones like Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse, Portugal. the Man, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, etc. So I'd love some suggestions of unknown bands.

I want to find some fun upbeat bands that are new and fresh. I usually like indie and alternative rock so recommendations in those genres would be good.

Please don't suggest any screamo.

I need some songs that make you feel better and I love indie.

I'm just looking for some bands that are not very popular because I want to hear some new music. I like indie rock, alternative rock, folk, some electronic (not dubstep though), and some rap. I don't like metal or any kind of screamo.

I'm going on a lot road trip with my mom and my brother so I need some good music to play. I generally like indie/alternative rock, but I want stuff that's fun for a long car ride. (has to be appropriate because I'm gonna be with my mom)

Usually when I ask for music suggestions people give me enormous lists of alright bands. However, I'm looking for bands that are fantastic; great sound, great lyrics, overall really good. I also know most of the bands that people recommend, so if you could suggest relatively unknown bands that would be great. Please just recommend a few really great bands.

I've gotten into indie/dream pop music lately. Even though I listed mostly older bands could you recommend some newer ones?

I know a lot of the more popular ones so it would be great to hear some more unknown or newer bands. I don't need a huge list, but if you could suggest a few really great lesser known indie or alternative bands that would be great.

I feel like I've been listening to the same bands over and over again, so I'm looking for some new music form new bands. Please recommend things that are less known, so that I will most likely not have heard it already. Thank you!

Can you give me some suggestions of good new alternative bands. I love Pixies, Guided by Voices, The Replacements, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr, Modest Mouse, and Built to Spill. But I want to listen to some newer bands. So if anyone has any recommendations that would be great!

Can you give me some recommendations of similar bands to the foo fighters? They're one of my favorite bands.

Also can you give me suggestions of relatively new bands. The older ones are great but I know almost all of them.
