Okay, I am taking a refresher math course for my college degree, since I have been out of school for some time. Anyways, I have tried working the problem, and need someone to explain the steps to me.

In the problem: x+6/x^2+10x+25 + x-3/x+5

My answer manual shows that the denominator on the left simplifies down to (x+5)(x+5)

my question is, where does the 3rd X go? There are only 2 showing in the simplification, but there are 3 in the original left side?

I have a pretty small flowerbed in front of my house. It is approximately 3 feet by 1 1/2 feet. Each year, I usually plant elephant ears, but am ready for something new. What flowers or plants will last most of the summer? It is completely full-sun too, no shadeing at all. I want something that will last thru summer early fall if possible, with some color.

Need some help. Just replaced my alternator in July 2010. Battery was new 2/2010. Wouldn't start last week, couldn't get in the car because the keyless entry and the remote won't work. (Did not realize the key does not open the doors or trunk, argh. Bought the car used.) Anyways, car parts store says the alternator has an open diode. Replaced the Alternator and the Battery this past weekend. Now, the car won't start again. Remote is not working, nor the keyless. Any ideas what is draining the battery? The whole front end is new, we've replaced almost everything!! Please help!
