Name of unknown children/ya book. Something like "boys club" or "no girls allowed." Plot twist that a character we think is a boy is a girl ?
So i read this book when I was a kid, roughly 2003-2007, not sure if it was new at the time but wouldn't have been written after those dates. I remember the title was something like "boys club" or "for boys only" or something like that because I, as a girl, read it to spite the author. From what I recall it was about a young boy who made friends with a kid call Alex or something androgynous like that. They had a club for boys only. At the end we learn that Alex is actually a girl, i feel like maybe she was from a foreign country like Russia, and at first the boy is upset but then he gets over it. I feel like it had a blue cover but I dont remember. Im worried that "for boys only" or whatever was just a tag line.
Have been trying to solve this forever. Please help!
