When an electron absorbs a photon it is known to be a quantum of energy given by the relation E=hv, where E is the energy in ergs, h is plank's constant, and v is the frequency in hertz. What is the color, in frequency or wavelength of the photon emitted when the electron moves from the next higher energy level back down?
P.S. energy level refers to the next available orbital position that would be occupied by the electron in a helium atom. Unless this isn't a possible state for the electron orbiting the 1H atom to occupy.
