Put ethanol in my tank. Anything I should look out for?
I accidentally put about 6 gallons of E-85 in the tank of my 2001 Saturn SL2 over the weekend. I have a 12 gallon tank and had about 3 to 4 gallons of regular gas in the car at the time. I only drove it for 20 feet after putting the ethanol in, just enough to get it away from the pump. I'm having the tank siphoned and having premium gas put in. Should I also have a fuel system clean out done or replace the fuel filter? Given that the fuel sat in my tank over the weekend until the shop opened this morning should I worry about corrosion in the tank? My car is high mileage. It's around 130,000....

I have a 2001 Saturn SL-2 with a manual transmission and a 10 gallon tank. I put 6 gallons of ethanol in it by accident. What should I do? Is it safe to fill it the rest of the way with regular fuel and run it or will that do damage to my fuel system/engine? Do I need to have my tank drained and my system flushed?
I understand that prolonged use of ethanol will damage the rubber parts of my engine. My question is will one half tank be enough to do damage? Will the ethanol really screw up my fuel injectors on contact? I'm pretty sure my car has electronic fuel injection, and an O2 sensor that adjusts oxygen to fuel mixture....
Also, I already had to start it to drive away from the pump. I moved less than 20 feet. Is that going to be a problem?

4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoPhysiology Help? How is Renal Clearance of Na effected by increased water intake?
In a basic physiology lab we ran an experiment where we tested the renal clearance for sodium and water from a person with normal water intake and a hydrated person with 8 times the normal water intake. The results show that the clearance of water goes down very slightly and the sodium clearance increases sightly. Why?
2 AnswersBiology1 decade agoCalculating % ionization given pKa and pH of solution?
I'm trying to calculate the % ionization of the carboxylic acid R group in aspirin given a pKa of 3.5 and a pH of 7.4.
I'm very confused about how to apply the Henderson Hasselbalch equation in this context and how to get the concentration of the conjugate acid and base. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
