  • Damaged hair from straightening?(PICS)?

I RARELY straighten my hair. If I do, it's the bangs.. With very low heat. My bangs never get damaged from it. My hair was very healthy full and curly. However, about 2 years ago I used to straighten my hair everyday. It was severely damaged so I cut heat all together & moisturized my hair as much as possible. unfortunately, i had to go to the salon to get my hair straightened last week. i I just washed it & now my bangs and the ends of my hair are kind of straight, seemingly dead :/ This is my hair 2 years ago, http://tinypic.com/r/2rmsadk/6

As you can see, it was extremely damaged; my hair was unable to form a single curl. This was my hair before straightening it last week http://tinypic.com/r/ibb8fc/6 ... Very curly& healthy!

When I went to the salon, the cosmetologist seemed to have the hair straightener very hair! My hair smelled as if it were burnt(still does now) I did not really say anything because I figured she was using heat protectant. This is how extremely straight she made my hair, which I liked at the time :p http://tinypic.com/r/21cchf8/6.

Now my hair seems so damaged :/ but how did it get so damaged? It's not like I straighten my hair all the time- this is my first time straightening it in 1 year! What should I do to revive my curls again?

  • HELP HELP HELP PLEASE! I have a test soon!!?

Well in Chemistry, we're doing types of reactions such as synthesis, decomposition, double replacement, single replacement, etc. We learned how to balance equations with coefficients- which is pretty easy. We also learned how to predict the products, which is okay- but the acid & bases neutralization confuses me a bit.. but that is besides the problem. I know for double replacement, I have to use the insolubility chart to find out if a reactant or product is (s) or (aq). However, my teacher told us that for synthesis decomposition, you cannot use the insolubility chart. So how would I find the states of matter for synthesis or decomposition? We have to do ionic & net equations, which involves the states of matter. That is why I am so worried. Some kids in my class tell me that in synthesis or decomposition a reactant or product is never aqueous. but I know they're wrong because when I looked up the answers for synthesis & decomposition, some of the products & reactants were aqueous. Therefore, I have no clue on how to find the states of matter for decomposition. As for single replacement, I don't know whether to use the insolubility chart or not. Also, pleaseee tell me any exceptions! Someone told me that any metal with oxygen is solid? Is that true, as well?
