  • Dog treats with garlic?

The treats are a all natural type that my mom bought (peanut butter flavored) but I noticed one of the ingredients towards the bottom was garlic. Isn't that poisonous to dogs? They were a gift from my mom and I feel bad not using them.

  • Feeling sad after Christmas?

It was a awesome Christmas this year so it definitely lived up to expectations. I don't understand why I've been feeling sad all day. I'm upset by the fact that due to circumstances we have to take the tree down early (December 28th Instead of January 1st.) and I just don't want to let go of Christmas yet...I already miss counting down in anticipation. I have things I'm really looking forward to in 2017 to.

  • How to handle this better?

Tonight I was at my local stable hanging out in pasture with the mares like I do almost every day. One of them started crowding my space and putting her head over mine and attempting to bite (she has NEVER done this before) I raised my arms up but she didn't move back so I stepped forward and pushed at her neck (not hard) to tell her to knock it off. Instead of going back she reared up at me! I backed up and I know I shouldn't but it was safety at that point. She turned around and faced me with her butt so I made her move off when she did that. Honestly though after the fact my heart was pounding and I was shaking. (God forbid) this ever happens again what should I do?

  • Dog got into a bag of treats?

It was about 3/4th full of treats. Smallish bag but plenty of treats in there and she ate them all. She won't eat her dinner tonight either (though in sure she isn't hungry) can this hurt her?

  • Hypothermia? In 60 degree weather?

I was out at my local horse stable for the past three hours. It was 60-58 degrees with a coo breeze that was pretty strong. I was wearing long sleeves and a thin hoodie. I did notice myself getting dizzy and my heart beating fast but I figured it was dehydration as I felt ok after sitting for a few minutes and drinking some water. Eventually I left cause I was getting uncomfortable and cold but I never shivered. When I came home I checked my temp (cause I was really cold) and it said 93.8. But I don't see how it could be that low I never shivered at all just felt cold and kind of dizzy.

  • That one special horse?

Id love to hear your stories about that one special horse that captured your heart. For me it's a little fiesty mare named Blondie. She is s one eyed palomino qaurter horse and when I met her she was scared of the world. Here we are 5 months later and she puts her complete trust in me after many many hours just sitting with her and talking. I've never had a horse bond like that before..she is one in a million.

  • What happens before you faint?

I think I almost passed out today. I was out at my local stable helping feed the horses and had been bending down awhile. When I stood up straight my heart and head started pounding and white 'fog' started filling in the bottom of my vision. All background noise faded. I sat down quickly and was OK after that.

  • What was she doing?

I was hanging out in the horse pasture tonight (there not mine but I ve been helping take care of them for 4 months so I know them pretty well) tonight one of them starting following me..not pushy at all she kept distance and walked relaxed. She would stop when I stopped, turned when I turned ect. This went on for about 2-3 minutes then she casually left to graze. I found it very sweet but don t understand why she did it. I was literally just standing and watching her graze.

  • What should I do?

I had a fever of 102.7. I took Tylenol and it's gone down to 102.3. However I'm FREEZING cold (curled up in a ball) I don't want to heat myself up again with a blanket but I'm not sure sitting here freezing is good either.

  • Stepped on?

I was out in pasture with the horses right before feeding time and they were alittle jacked up (my mistake) anyway I got stepped on by one of the mares that weighs about 850-900 pounds right on my toes(I was wearing boots). I honestly don't remember if I pulled my foot back or pushed her off but she was only there for a split second. However that happened almost 3 hours ago and my toe still hurts whether I'm sitting or walking. I don't believe it's broken as I can bend it but it is slightly swollen (it's the toe right next to the pinky) so this was my first time ever getting stepped on. How long does it usually hurt?

  • How to know if a toe/toes are broken?

I was stepped on by a horse about 45 minutes ago. I was wearing leather boots but it still FREAKIN HURT. Anyway my toes don't appear to be swollen but they are slightly red and it hurts all the time wether sitting or walking

  • What's the next step?

I've been working with a 2 year old mate named Blondie for 3 months. She only has one eye and had a hard past so is/was extremely scared of people. She is now comfortable with me petting her all over and today I groomed her for the first time (just standing out in pasture with her) she has never had a halter on before but I don't feel like she is ready for that yet. What should my next goal be?

  • Should Nyquist retire?

He hasn't been the same horse since getting beat in the Preakness. I have to wonder if it broke his spirit (as he had never lost before) maybe bring him back as a 4 year old? I love Nyquist and backed him for the Derby and cheer for him every race but I'm not sure his heart is in it anymore

  • Do you believe certain horses capture our hearts?

I'm working/training at a stable right by my house and there is 13 horses. Most of them are sweet and love attention. However the one I love the most is a horse named Blondie who is skittish of people and scared. She also only has one eye. However I fell in love with her and am now working with her to help her over her shyness. I can't really explain why I love her so much. I can see potential in her though.

  • Is the sushi still good?

My mom bought me some California rolls yesterday which is my favorite food but I ended up being nauseous all day. The rolls say use by 9/6. So does that mean they are no good today or no good AFTER today?

  • Can you eat corn tortillas cold?

I made a sandwich and ate part of the corn tortilla just straight out of the bag. You don't HAVE to heat them right?
