I am having a problem in my 20g high tank. I had recently brought home an eel and some cory catfish a few days ago. Ever since then all but the new cory cats died ... out of nowhere. I had done a water change yesterday because of the corys dying. Today a bosemani rainbow died when i got home. I was assuming the eel was the atacker, but if so, wouldnt it eat the african dwarf frogs? I went to the community fish store and all my tests read zero and my temperature was at 79, but i raised it to 82 now. What does this sound like and how do i stop it before my favorite fish dies... the Black Ghost Knife!!

I had bought a marimo ball about a week and a half ago. It is about 5in. I have a 20g tank with standard lighting and do not add extra plant supplements. I had removed all of the debris by squeezing it out like a sponge because i hear that debris is a threat. Today I had noticed there is a rather large hole in it and I was wondering if this is normal and what to do??

I had bought bunches of Vallisneria grass at a local pet store. I was wondering if anyone could give me information on care for these plants. If you cut them and plant the trimmings, would they root?? Plz help...

Does anybody know where to purchase bamboo shrimp anymore?? I have never wanted them before (when i saw them all over), but now i am really interested in them and i cant find them anywhere!!!!! does anybody know where to buy bamboo shrimp in or near the northwest side of chicago? and are there a shortage of there shrimps???

I have a recipe that calls for 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped. Instead of fresh garlic, i bought the garlic tidbits in water (i prefer the stronger garlic taste). I was wondering how many teaspoons or tablespoons are equivalent to 4 cloves of garlic finely chopped.

I had had a single hill stream loach in my 20 gallon mixed species tank for about 6 months - 1 year now. Today it was all happily on the glass gliding across the gravel and all. When I got home today, I found it laying there dead with its colors faded (white-ish) in patches. I am usually good with fish, but one thing I never bothered to learn was diseases and medications. Is there any ideas (with references) of what disease this was and what could have caused it.

I was at a chain store (opt not to say) and I bought some large shrimp in a tank with crayfish and other feeders. I was wondering how to tell the difference between ghost shrimp (which i've had), Algae eating shrimp (which i just bought), and a Baby crayfish. Two of them have a faded neon-like stripe along its back, but the third doesn't.

I had a domino damsel who was happily swimming this morning (healthy and colorful), and this night all of a sudden he was helpless and turned white (totally white!!!). My water was just tested and everything but the nitrite was good. He lived alone with nothing but sand. Why could this have happend?

I am about to buy (what claims to be) a zebra pleco for 39.99, but I thought they sold for like $250-300. I also know that the queen arabesque pleco looks similar and usually sells for about $40.00. How can I tell the difference if it is a true zebra pleco or not
