Is anyone composting pistachio shells? How long do they take to breakdown?
and what about the salt? Does this make the compost less attractive to worms. I know salt hurts/kills worms. I hate to just throw them in the trash/landfill. Constructive answers only please. Thanks in advance!
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape8 years agoI've heard that I should be adding calcium to my worm farm...?
I've been saving eggshells and crushing them. I don't have a blender so I've been using the back of a spoon in a bowl, like a mortal & pestle of sorts. It crushes them up pretty small but it's not powder.
My question is how fine do they need to be crushed?
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape9 years agoStopping a dog from jumping up on people...?
A friend said that the dog trainer she took her dog to told her that "Some dogs jump up on people and may never be trained not to do it." I told her she should go to a different trainer because I think it can be done. Any trainers out there? What do you think?
3 AnswersDogs9 years agoBesides egg shells, how can I add calcium naturally to my worm farm?
What fruits, veggies, what ever, have calcium naturally that I can feed my worms. Dealing with egg shells is not convenient. Also, I don't want to buy a calcium product, i'm trying to do this on a very tight budget.
4 AnswersGarden & Landscape9 years agoI have a worm farm and I'm concerned about feeding them fruit & veggie peels/skins, should I be?
The reason I'm concerned is because I understand that insecticides can be on the peel/skin.
